Blurb
As a socially anxious person, Kasuga Yui's greatest hobby is staying home and playing video games.
When her friend barges in, she's just finished pulling an all-nighter with a game she found secondhand and is staring blankly at the ending.
Her friend grumbles, "You haven't replied in days. I thought you were dead."
Looking gloomy, Kasuga Yui lets her friend pull her to her feet.
She wasn't dead. She'd just been playing a fan game.
A Demon Slayer fan-made RPG she'd found on a niche forum. The graphics were ugly, the loading painfully slow, and it crashed every time a battle started.
But she still finished it.
The ending showed Demon King Tanjiro standing atop the ruins, with no one behind him.
After her friend left, Yui sat staring at the screen for a long time. Then she went to the game's review section and, feeling the loneliness that resonated with her, carefully wrote a long post.
She didn't expect anyone to see her comment, but when she logged back into the gaming platform, the developer had replied beneath it.
[X]: Then would you like to meet him? ^^
Kasuga Yui froze for a moment.
[Yui]: Who?
[X]: Demon King Tan.
Tips
1. Original female lead. Demon King Tanjiro survived into the modern era.
2. The events of the original story remain largely unchanged. Only the parts involving Demon King Tanjiro at the ending are different. This story does not involve the original plot.
3. This is my interpretation of Demon King Tanjiro's personality. Sorry in advance if he's out of character.
4. Characters reincarnated from the original story will appear. They are reincarnations, not descendants. This story does not involve any original-story pairings.
5. Etc.
Theme: Even an alternate timeline can have a bright future.
