My next novel, Springtime Longing, is currently updating. Please add it to your reading list, pretty please...
Blurb:
Shi Ning spent the first half of her life hopelessly in love with Pei Jiangyan, heir to the Pei estate. After she got her wish and married him, everything changed.
Her mother-in-law treated her coldly, the servants showed her no respect, and Pei Jiangyan treated her like trash.
No matter what Shi Ning did, she couldn't win his favor.
That is, until she learned the arts of the bedchamber. The ever-proper heir became reckless, and Shi Ning couldn't handle him, so she could only let him do as he pleased. She thought perhaps her husband would learn to be considerate, but after their tender moment...
The heir got dressed and stood up.
"Madam Shi, don't imitate the tricks of a woman of the demimonde."
"I don't like them."
His words drenched the last of Shi Ning's ardor like a bucket of cold water. Too ashamed to stay at the estate, she asked to return to the manor.
Then a great fire swept through, clearly meant to kill her and make way for a new wife. Carrying her hatred and fear, Shi Ning was reborn, back to the time before she married into the Pei family.
When she saw Pei Jiangyan again, the eager look in her eyes had turned cold.
But when she turned away, she clearly saw a trace of amusement in the composed heir's eyes.
Pei Jiangyan held up a lake-green purse, lightly rubbing its fabric between his fingertips.
"Miss Shi, is this yours?"
At the sight of his gesture, a chill ran through Shi Ning. In the past, when the two of them had lain together fully clothed, he would always lift her garments and gently stroke the skin beneath the fabric.
Shi Ning blushed.
"Shameless."
"...And wicked."
*
The brilliant and extraordinary heir Pei Jiangyan believed his wife should be graceful and beautiful, with an enchanting appearance.
Yet through a twist of fate, he married Shi Ning.
He treated her with the respect due between husband and wife, but Shi Ning was always wary and cautious around him.
He never stayed the night with her. She was so delicate and soft, and her gaze so tender and dewy, that he could hardly restrain himself.
Afraid of frightening his young wife, Pei Jiangyan rarely got close to her and took care of everything so she wouldn't have to worry.
But one day, Shi Ning asked to go recuperate at the manor...
P.S.
The events of their past life are viewed differently by the male and female leads. Most of the story is told from the heroine's perspective, so what she sees will seem like the truth to her, but the real truth will gradually be revealed later.
The hero loves only the heroine in both lifetimes.
From the heroine's perspective, the hero is guilty of every crime under the sun. She is reborn carrying hatred and misunderstandings, which will gradually be cleared up in this life.
(You don't have to tell me if you're dropping the story. Thank you, and please don't direct your criticism at the author.)
Upcoming novel, Springtime Longing, is being drafted.
Blurb:
Bai Qiong was bought for two taels of silver to bring good fortune to a dying old man. He was no longer capable of intimacy, but treated her fairly well.
His second wife, however, was exceptionally cruel.
She beat and berated Bai Qiong at the slightest provocation.
For the sake of her sick father and the contract that bound her, Bai Qiong endured the humiliation.
She hoped her father would live a long, healthy life, that the old man would die soon, and that her contract would be returned to her.
She hoped and hoped, until at last the day came.
The old man felt sorry that Bai Qiong was so young and already a concubine. On his deathbed, he told her to ask his second wife for her contract and some money, then leave the estate on her own.
Bai Qiong was overjoyed.
She turned and went to ask for them.
As she was leaving, the maids in the estate were all talking.
"Everything's changed around here. The eldest young master has taken charge of the household, and Mr. Suan is going through the accounts!"
Bai Qiong was shocked.
She hurried to find out what was happening.
When she reached the main hall, the once-arrogant second wife was sprawled on the floor, wailing. The usually elusive eldest young master sat proudly in the seat of honor, his expression defiant.
He spotted Bai Qiong and raised an eyebrow.
"What is it?"
Bai Qiong didn't dare lie.
"This servant... was ordered to come collect her contract..."
The eldest young master gave a soft laugh.
"Ordered by whom?"
"By the master."
The room fell silent for a moment.
Then the young master, sitting high above everyone else, spoke softly.
"I am the master."
"Whose orders are you following?"
Bai Qiong's legs went weak. She hurriedly knelt on the floor, her face wearing a fawning smile.
"Please don't make things difficult for me, eldest young master. I'm just a girl who was brought in to bring good fortune. The master... the old master told me to collect my contract and leave before he died. Perhaps he thought I hadn't taken good enough care of him. I can't shamelessly stay here and live off the estate. Please... let me go, Master."
A pale hand lifted Bai Qiong's chin.
The man looked down at her, studying her face.
"You were brought here to bring good fortune, and you brought about my father's death. You still think you can leave?"
Tagline: Eat well and stay healthy
Is this really still possible? The heroine really only hates the hero now, right?
I want to see Mr. Pei and Shi Ning's rivalry, big time
It's so beautiful. Thank you so much for writing so well.
This first encounter is so cute 🤩🤩🤩
The most attractive thing about the heroine from the beginning to the end of this book is that the heroine feels worthy. Whether she wanted to marry the hero in her previous life, or she doesn't want to marry Pei again and tries to contact other people in this life, she has full confidence that she deserves the best. The middle part of the fight for the legitimate son was fast-paced, but until Pei Chong returned to the Meng Mansion to find Aning, everyone was worried because it seemed that the contradiction was irreconcilable. For example, in some places, I felt that the plot was not well written in this way, but it happened to be a gorgeous turn in the next chapter. The plot that shocked me the most was that it actually allowed Aning to see Pei's perspective in the previous life, and I finally understood why Dada said in the early stage that the two of them were little bitter gourds. I really shed a lot of tears in these paragraphs. On the one hand, I really felt sorry for the two of them, and on the other hand, I was also infected by Dada's writing style [ bursting into tears ]. Fortunately, with this turning point, it will be logical to continue HE later. Until now, this book is coming to an end. I am really, really reluctant to leave it. I wish you can write more and better in the future 🤗🤗🤗
I also cried while reading this chapter. It turns out there is such a connection. I'm so curious. 🤩 🤩 🤩
