* Reuniting after a breakup / dating reality show / age gap / winning back his ex
* Lively, stubborn, little-known actress vs. scheming, jealous director
[Blurb]
Back in college, Shi Yu was melancholy and ambitious, with talent just beginning to shine. The whole department was abuzz when the celebrated senior Xie Yuxiu pursued him.
Who could have known that the dream would be so brief? His career went downhill, and his romance ended in a mess.
As heavy rain fell during graduation season, he said with a frankness that was almost cruel, "She's waiting for me overseas."
There was no need to ask who he meant.
On the forums, people said she was his childhood sweetheart, his idealized first love.
Rain blurred Shi Yu's vision. So what had these past three years meant?

They met again years later, on the set of a dating reality show.
Shi Yu still remembered what had happened back then and made a point of keeping her distance.
But she was momentarily distracted, and let a kitten pounce on her until she had an allergic reaction. "Sorry, Director. I can go to the hospital with you."
"Director?" He looked at her.
Shi Yu wouldn't take the bait. "If you have an assistant with you, I can reimburse you."
-
Later, at a class reunion, someone used her as a stepping stone to praise Xie Yuxiu.
The embarrassing details of their breakup were brought up again, like someone exposing a scabbed-over wound: painful and itchy.
Shi Yu had never been one to swallow an insult. She downed her drink and gave him such a thorough tongue-lashing that even he got an earful.
The next day, sober again, she covered her face, ready to pretend she was dead.
But he still caught up with her. Xie Yuxiu looked at her. "Get your ID documents ready. Tomorrow's a working day."
Shi Yu corrected him. "I think what I said was... that I hate you."
"That works too." It was better than forgetting him.
[Bonus Scene]
On the day the dating-show trip ended, Shi Yu assumed their relationship contract was over and coolly deleted him from her contacts.
A good horse never eats grass it has already passed. She never made the same mistake twice on the same question.
Just when she thought they would never cross paths again, the new tenant across the hall knocked on her door. "Shishi, good morning."
That gentle face, soft enough to almost smooth away his cool, sharp features, could belong to no one but Xie Yuxiu.
She froze for a second, then, as her grandmother asked curiously who it was, she slammed the door shut.
"Nobody. Just a delivery guy."
