Afterward, the new representative disappeared.

When Nan Qin was young, the Nan and Gu families were powerful allies. Nan Qin, Gu Yan, and Gu Songcheng grew up together, childhood friends who spent their days side by side... A poll even circulated on A University’s campus forum asking who Nan Qin would choose. But not long after, Gu Songcheng left the Gu family for good... No one knew where he had gone.

Then, ten years later, news spread through City A that both the Nan and Gu families had gone bankrupt...

"Looks like you still haven't learned how to get by under someone else's roof, even after all those years in America. Want me to teach you? Hmm?" The man grabbed one of her hands and clamped down hard.

"Where I am is none of your business. With your capabilities, finding me would be as easy as breathing. So why didn't you come looking for me? And if you touch me again, I'll sue you!" She yanked her hand free and tried to splash a glass of water in his face, but Gu Songcheng's gaze stopped her... Her legs wouldn't move an inch, and her hand froze. It had been so long since she'd looked into his eyes from this close, yet she could see how much of his old tenderness and attentiveness had disappeared...

"Come looking for you? What do you think you are to me?"

"And remember to carry a recorder with you from now on. Every day, every second, you'll want to sue me."

He gave a cold laugh, then took out a handkerchief to dry his face and slipped his hands into his pockets, leaving as if nothing had happened. Left alone, Nan Qin trembled and sank weakly onto the sofa. She hated Gu Songcheng not only because his surname was Gu! The sudden fire that had consumed the Nan family overnight had also made her suspicious of everyone.

--In the bitter wind, Nan Qin walked along an empty road in a flimsy gauze dress... At that moment, her heart was finally at peace. She knew that no matter how far she ran, Gu Songcheng would still find her... She only wanted to uncover the truth, and deep down she still couldn't believe the Gu family would go so far.
