1-
On a stormy day in Hong Kong, the sky beyond the hotel's floor-to-ceiling windows was pitch-black, as if it might come crashing down at any moment.
Extreme weather had descended without warning.
Jiang Yushu stood alone by the entrance, momentarily at a loss.
"Splash!" Water flicked up beside the tires.
The car door opened, and a man stepped into the rain first, holding a black umbrella.
Jiang Yushu knew him. He was the grandson of a director at the Zhou Group. In her memory, he was gentle and quiet, and had always treated her well.
The man stopped in front of her. Rain had soaked half his shoulder, and his gaze settled on her stunned face.
The umbrella created a space that belonged to the two of them alone, shutting out the roar of the rain.
"Ms. Jiang."
His voice was gentler than usual. It cut through the noisy rain, clear as day.
"Let me take you home."

Some time later, Jiang Yushu ran into Mu Chi again.
Drunk out of her mind, she clung to him, tracing his handsome, expressive features with her fingertips. In a low voice, she asked, "You're so good-looking. Want to be my boyfriend?"
Mu Chi stared at her in shock for a second, then looked at her lips and answered without hesitation. "Sure."
The next morning, Jiang Yushu remembered the absurdity of the previous night and tried to make a getaway, only to be stopped at the entrance to her residential complex.
For the next several days, the man pursued her relentlessly, repeatedly using business collaborations as an excuse to spend time with her.
Not long afterward, Forest Studio put out a call for assistants for a comic convention. Jiang Yushu stared at the man who had volunteered and furrowed her brows. "Sorry, our studio doesn't hire male assistants."
At that, Mu Chi leaned toward her, his gaze as tender as water. Smiling, he said, "That's all right, Ms. Jiang. I'm here to pursue you."
Jiang Yushu: "..."
Throughout their collaboration, Mu Chi kept to his place and fulfilled all her requests.
Jiang Yushu was grateful for his thoughtfulness and attentiveness. She read nothing more into it, assuming they would only ever be ordinary friends.
Until the day he stood her up to attend a matchmaking meeting arranged by his elders.
Inside the car, Jiang Yushu grabbed Mu Chi by the collar and pinned him against the seat, revealing her domineering side. "Didn't you agree to be my boyfriend?"
Mu Chi looked utterly bewildered, then curled his lips in a teasing smile. "When did I agree to that?"
Jiang Yushu wouldn't listen. She leaned down and bit his lip, her voice firm. "Now. Right this instant."
As soon as she finished speaking, the man captured her soft lips. His kisses fell again and again, urgent and domineering.
"All right."
"You can't take it back this time."
[Bonus Scene]
In the second year after her sabbatical, Jiang Yushu's new work began serializing, and she returned to Hong Kong to hold a solo exhibition.
In the crowded venue, a woman in a custom-designed gown sat at the center. Her makeup was understated, and a gentle smile lit her eyes. She always spoke softly and warmly with her fans.
At the side of the exhibition booth, a young man wearing a black mask helped sort colored paper from time to time, and occasionally took photos of her as her photographer.
A fan who had traveled from far away took a closer look.
The handsome guy was meticulous at work, but his eyes kept drifting toward the woman beside him. It was obvious he had something on his mind.
Curious, the fan asked him outright, "Are you a fan of Teacher Jiang too?"
At the question, Mu Chi's eyes paused for a moment. He exchanged a smile with Jiang Yushu beside him.
He reached out and laced his fingers with hers. Looking at the pink diamond ring glinting in the light, he said, brimming with happiness, "Yeah. She's my fiancée."
