[Romantic otome story with an ambiguous harem and a happy ending]
[Please check out my upcoming novel of the same type: The Saniwa Only Wants to Fall in Love]
As the most highly rated saniwa in the government, Shen Shen has poured her whole heart into this citadel.
She loves every sword warrior and knows all the tsukumogami's interests and worries. She changes the citadel's seasonal scenery to match the time of year, sometimes makes dumplings herself, and even spends her entire salary on golden protection charms.
Every time the sword warriors return from an expedition, they see their master waiting by the time gateway, smiling warmly as she says, “Welcome home!”
She is the gentlest saniwa, and the best master they could ask for.
Not a single sword tsukumogami disagrees.
*
Until, after one mission outside the citadel, the sword tsukumogami notice that their saniwa has become a little strange.
She no longer cares for the swords returning from battle, no longer makes sweets herself, and no longer keeps busy in the repair room. Even though the season of heavy snowfall has arrived, the scenery is still set to summer.
What the tsukumogami find hardest to accept is that the master they love has started deliberately avoiding them.
She no longer eats with them or assigns their missions in person, and she has even stopped appointing a close attendant.
At last, the tsukumogami can't stand it anymore.
They decide to find out what has happened.
*
The sword warrior they send kneels outside the keep. Before he can knock, he hears the saniwa speaking to a communications device in a trembling, broken voice:
“I request... that this citadel be destroyed.”
The sword warrior's hand stops. He quietly withdraws.
*
Not long afterward, the tsukumogami in the citadel reach a unanimous decision.
Since the saniwa can't keep loving them forever, they'll just have to hide her away~
All swords x saniwa, otome, romantic tension-filled harem.
No government-bashing or corruption plotlines. Lots of daily life, with a little main plot mixed in. At heart, it's still a slice-of-life story~
See the announcement for updates.
Upcoming novel: The Saniwa Only Wants to Fall in Love
Blurb:
The government is in a bind, so it sends me to take over a corrupted citadel.
Why did this misfortune have to fall on me?
Because the previous master of the citadel, the one who personally drove the swords to madness and corruption, is my mom.
The government searched every file and found that I'm the only living person with a spiritual affinity strong enough to enter that citadel.
Before I leave, Foxy gives me the files on the corrupted citadel.
Dark miasma shrouds it, resentment fills the air, and the shadow left by the previous saniwa has filled all the tsukumogami with hatred for humans.
I turn to Foxy and tell him to book me a first-class ticket abroad.
But I take another look at the last page of the file.
A row of headshots is displayed under the heading “Sword Warrior Roster.”
Well, they look pretty good.
I quietly tear up my ticket.
It's not my fault my mom did something awful. Those handsome guys are innocent.
*
The government sent Shen Shen here with the intention of sacrificing her to atone for her mother's sins.
The government representative tells the tsukumogami they can do whatever they want with the new saniwa.
After what happened with their previous master, they are ready to face a demon saniwa: a wolf in sheep's clothing, sweet as spring water on the surface, but hiding a knife behind every smile.
Who could have guessed that when the citadel gates open, a petite figure would appear in an expensive dress, a crooked bow tied at the neck of her little cape?
“Is this it? Where are the sword spirits lined up to welcome me, like you promised? There's not a single soul at the gate! Are you messing with me, miss?”
Foxy trembles. “M-Master, they're probably still inside...”
“Tell them to get out here.” She leans against the doorframe with her arms crossed. “I can't wait.”
*
Before coming to the citadel, Shen Shen asked Foxy about it.
Foxy led her on. “There are lots of handsome tsukumogami in the citadel!”
Shen Shen lifts her chin. “How handsome? As handsome as the guys in their headshots? I don't want them if the photos are misleading.”
Foxy: “...They're even more handsome in person!”
Shen Shen: “And will they listen to me?”
Foxy: “...Technically, the saniwa is their master.”
Shen Shen is satisfied. “That's more like it.”
The government is scheming away, sending a sinner's daughter to her death to appease the corrupted swords' resentment and kill two birds with one stone.
Who could have guessed that the saniwa has no intention of dying?
She complains that the citadel is too shabby and ugly, that the swords' clothes are too black and dirty, and that the citadel's food is too plain and tasteless.
The tsukumogami look at the citadel, now covered in pink wallpaper, glance down at their newly coordinated outfits to match Shen Shen's dress, then look at the kitchen the saniwa accidentally blew up.
The corrupted swords finally can't help asking Shen Shen, who is peacefully enjoying afternoon tea on the veranda, “What did you come here for, anyway?”
She answers without hesitation, “To fall in love. What about it?”
Foxy: “Saniwa, will acting crazy and pretending not to understand really save this corrupted citadel...?”
*
Later, the citadel truly recovers from corruption.
The government sends its congratulations, saying Shen Shen has exceeded expectations and can now leave with honor.
Shen Shen is supervising the tsukumogami as they water her precious hydrangeas when she hears the news. She pauses in surprise.
Foxy asks tentatively, “Saniwa, you're not going to miss them, are you?”
Shen Shen rolls her eyes. “Of course not!”
After packing her little bundle, Shen Shen picks a dark, stormy night and sneaks to the gate.
Then they catch her red-handed.
A tsukumogami holds up her bundle and smiles. “Young lady, where do you think you're going?”
“Didn't you say you would become our wife, Master? Why are you leaving now?”
Shen Shen is shocked. “I only wanted to have a little romance!”
Before she can finish, the clear night sky is swallowed by dark miasma.
The gate slams shut behind the saniwa and locks.
By the time Shen Shen realizes what is happening, it's too late.
Shen Shen: ???
They said the citadel had recovered. So they were lying to me!
Third-person narration.
All swords x saniwa, otome.
Daily life, one sword at a time, and a guaranteed sweet happy ending.
Upcoming novel: Bakumatsu Otome Conquest
After transmigrating into a game set in the Bakumatsu era, Chao Ling has just one mission:
Conquer the famous Demon Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi and make sure he survives.
Otome story, with some unrequited crushes~
Chizuru and Okita will end up together because I don't want him to die.
Mostly everyday life, not exactly angsty (probably).
Theme: Every day is full of hope!
It feels a bit subtle, and I can't quite grasp the heroine's character. The subject matter and setting are to my liking, but there's an indescribable sense of inconsistency 😂
Laughing to death, Genji buy one get one free
I like this setting, fierce, fierce, fierce!
Hey, hey, hey, hey
I feel that sometimes the heroine's personality seems torn... Sometimes she looks like a master of emotions with ease, and sometimes she is very weak and even "screams"...
I saw Qingguang didn't hold back when he ate two pieces of pudding hahahahahaha
My old man created a good result of e4 with a maximum of 1200 and a minimum of 300 😩😩
Isn't it allowed to have multiple male protagonists now? Why not at the same time?
My freshly baked cat is also good at beating 😍
Check in! My little Fox Maru is also good at playing cardsww
