Honestly, what kind of person joins the Demon Slayer Corps just to get a sword repaired?
She uses the same Wind Breathing as me, yet instead of a safer katana or tachi, she insists on using a wakizashi. Does she think her life is too long?
Sanemi Shinazugawa had pondered these two questions more than once.
But Kamiki Chitose seemed completely unaware of how out of place she was. Every day, she tied her hair into a ridiculous bun and ran around grinning with her teeth bared. She had friends throughout the Demon Slayer Corps and was as carefree and cheerful as a monkey.
Kamiki Chitose: "Were you just insulting me?"
Ah, a very alert monkey.

Kamiki Chitose had always been searching for a way to repair her wakizashi.
From Osaka to Tokyo, she visited every swordsmith she could find, and every one of them said, "It can't be repaired."
Just when she was at her wits' end and almost ready to give up, a kind stranger pointed her in the right direction:
"The Demon Slayer Corps has the finest swordsmiths. Their craft has been passed down since the Sengoku period. They'll definitely be able to repair your sword!"
Kamiki Chitose excitedly asked, "How do I find them and get them to repair my sword?"
He replied, "You have to join the Demon Slayer Corps."
You sly big-eyed recruiter. So you were recruiting all along.

Half a year later, Kamiki Chitose joined the Demon Slayer Corps, just as she had hoped.
It took her two years to gather all the materials the head of the Swordsmith Village needed for the repair, and she finally got his promise.
But Kamiki Chitose was temporarily sent on a long-distance mission and was late returning, so Sanemi had to collect her precious wakizashi for her.
As soon as he brought the sword back, he received terrible news from a Kasugai Crow:
Kamiki Chitose had encountered Upper Rank Three and disappeared.
Before he even had time to grieve, the wakizashi suddenly took human form.
?
This is a little strange.
Stranger still, the black-haired, black-eyed, baby-faced boy said:
"I am Chitose's father."
...Who?
Reader's Guide:
1. Sanemi pairing.
2. Characters may or may not get killed off, depending on the author's mood.
3. OOC warning. If the writing is bad, it's because of the author's lack of skill.
4. The heroine is incredibly strong as a human. Later, she becomes a demon and loses her memory, but doesn't eat people.
