The second son brought home a woman from a nightclub, while the younger son refused to inherit the family business and insisted on starting his own company.
The chairman of Nie Group finally lost his patience.
In a fit of anger, he confined his second son and froze the younger son's bank cards.
The nineteen-year-old Nie Ting unexpectedly ran away from home,
swearing he'd make a success of himself.
He was carefree when he got on the plane, and utterly despairing when he got off: he was kidnapped as soon as he landed. Unable to contact his father, the kidnappers immediately threatened to kill him.
Suddenly, a pair of cheap white sneakers appeared in front of him.
He looked up. The man had light pink hair that stood out under the moonlight, and gentle features. He didn't look like a thug.
He was rescued. The pink-haired man was called Ji Suining, and the group called him “Boss Ji.”
This genuinely accomplished young man looked like someone you shouldn't mess with.
After observing him for a while, Nie Ting realized he was clever and seemed perfect for a job at his studio.
But Ji Suining misunderstood him, thinking he was after his younger sister, and kept him at arm's length.
Nie Ting: You got it wrong. I'm not interested in your sister. I'm interested in you.
Ji Suining: ?

Fate can be terrifying. The two men, who couldn't stand each other at first, kept meeting by accident.
One came from a huge family, the most doted-on young master among the powerful and influential families of City B.
The other came from a broken home, a cast-off left to fend for himself in a forgotten corner of City S, a thousand miles away.
Their lives ran on parallel lines. Yet somehow, those lines began to curve, gradually meeting at a point.
It was like standing on one shore and looking out to sea, only to find you could see the world on the other side as well.
But an “accidental encounter” is still a “mistake.”
As they gazed across the distance at each other's deep eyes, with the wind howling between them, the lines tying them together were pulled and stretched apart.
Adults have too many concerns.
Love means looking toward the future together, but it also means letting someone go and giving them what they deserve. It can never be selfish.
To live is to struggle against fate.
To grow is to make way for the things that matter more.

Content warnings
1. The top in the main couple had a girlfriend as a teenager, but has no lingering feelings for her. She is not his first love.
2. The bottom in the side couple pretends to be straight early on and plays around. Their storyline also appears fairly late.
3. It's a slow-burn romance, though it picks up later. The main romance kicks into high gear around Chapter 50.
4. The characters were never second-generation rich kids. Please forgive some imprecise details.
5. The main story has an open ending! The bonus chapters have a happy ending. (The bonus chapters are an idealized version of the main story, written on the assumption that everything standing in the way of their relationship has been removed.)
