If one day you met a ghost who offered to grant you any three wishes, what would you do?

Zhou Shaolin refused, without hesitation.

Zhou Shaolin, age twenty, is the youngest genius exorcist in history and the only person in the present age with golden underworld eyes.

Powerful, calm, efficient, and detached, he desires nothing beyond fulfilling his duties.

He entered the profession young and has plenty of experience. He's dispelled countless curses and never made a single mistake. After retiring, he returned to ordinary life, occasionally taking on odd jobs.

The job itself was supposed to be simple, but it awakened the most twisted and bizarre curse of all: the White Ghost, a wish-granting urban legend that once spread throughout the city.

"Oh, there you are at last!"

A girl with silver hair and a black dress hovered in midair, smiling as she asked him, "Human, is there a wish you'd like me to grant?"

Zhou Shaolin cut her in half with a single slash. That was his answer.

Bai You, a causal-law curse born from human obsession, was born able to sense every human desire and rewrite causality to fulfill it.

Innocent, cruel, self-centered, and capricious. Her rank cannot be measured, and her actions defy understanding. Her classification: Extremely Dangerous.

All curses have an obsession that can awaken them from slumber. Bai You, however, had lost all her memories and knew nothing of her past.

But that was all right. At least she still remembered one thing!

She had to find someone and grant him three wishes.

Though he had turned her down outright, Bai You didn't mind. An exorcist, of course, wouldn't make a wish so easily.

She'd just have to make the first move!

And so Bai You casually had Zhou Shaolin impaled by a steel rebar and pinned to a wall, blood spraying from his chest like splattered ink.

In the desperate moment before death, she leaned close to his ear and said sweetly with a smile:

"...Exorcist, now wish to stay alive, won't you?"

What would it take to make an exorcist wish upon a curse?

If the other person was completely sealed off, leaving not a single opening...

Bai You thought she might as well try everything.

Create a desperate situation. Forge a pact. Cling to him, tempt him, threaten him. She would cut into the deepest part of this person until she exposed his blood-soaked heart.

...Come on, let me take a look. Is it really not beating? Is it really so invulnerable?

Let's test each other. Compete. Fight to the death. Turn over our cards one by one.

Reading notes:

1. Original worldbuilding, modern supernatural setting, 1v1 romance, plot-focused with a twisted romance woven through it.

2. The point of view varies, including both leads', but is essentially a camera's-eye view. The male lead appears first, while the female lead makes her formal entrance in Chapter 13.

3. The heroine is a crazy ghost who can't be judged by human logic, truly inhuman and utterly different in her way of thinking. She's cute, terrifying, and dangerous.

4. The hero is very normal, although if you think about it carefully, maybe not that normal.
