[Trusted Minister × Deposed Crown Prince] [Uptight, Repressed Grump × Gentle Ray of Sunshine] [Mutual Healing, Mutual Pining]
Wen Shiheng was a prodigy. He placed first in the provincial exam at twelve, first in the metropolitan exam at fifteen, and first in the palace exam.
At sixteen, his country fell.
The day the capital fell, the emperor dropped to his knees before him and shoved the ten-year-old crown prince into his arms.
"Lord Wen! My benefactor! Please get the child out of here. Just let him live."
Wen Shiheng agreed and fled with the young crown prince.
They wandered from place to place, surviving one brush with death after another.
Wen Shiheng couldn't go on. Living like this was worse than dying.
He brought the crown prince to the riverside and crouched down.
"Your Highness, I'm going to jump into the river. Will you jump with me?"
The crown prince trembled with fear, but still nodded.
Wen Shiheng picked him up and leaped into the river.
Theme: Face adversity head-on, and wait for the skies to clear after the rain.
