Those years began at no known time or place.
That night was still and silent. One moment, the people were peacefully asleep, lost in pleasant dreams.
The next, smoke signals rose everywhere, and monsters attacked.
The people abandoned their treasures and wealth and fled in every direction, but they could not escape their fate. In the end, they all met their deaths.
Those lucky enough to survive, whether wealthy merchants or poor commoners, were treated no better than livestock.
Dry bones littered the ground, and corpses filled the streets.
Every night, faint wails could be heard, echoing like the cries of ghosts and filling the heart with sorrow.
Jiangnan City, once a paradise on earth, became a living hell in an instant. Cries and the sounds of slaughter filled the air without end.
The demons swept across the land, bringing calamity to the world. They took pleasure in killing, and the people suffered terribly as all living things were devastated.
There was a remarkable man who lived in those troubled times and shone brightly. His name was Mo Qingchen. Every demon feared him, and he saved the people from disaster time and again. They called him the “Sword Immortal”! Every demon dreaded him, and everyone revered him!
Then one day, he was betrayed by a villain. In a single night, he turned to dust and vanished. Even his techniques were never passed down...
People said, “What Sword Immortal? That’s just a story to entertain children.”
She said, “No!”
Everyone laughed!
Because she really had met the Sword Immortal...
He was her master, her father, her role model. She would never forget him, nor could she forget the night the Sword Immortal fell.
She took the name Xiao Lian and vowed to uncover the truth about that night!
tips: 1. One-on-one romance, happy ending. Both leads have their own growth arcs, and neither starts out perfect.
2. A fair-minded, doted-on heroine x a world-weary, scheming, fake-sweet hero.
3. There’s romance as well as plot. Both the righteous and the villains have unique abilities.
4. An unusual setting: Demons eat humans (?), so there are demon hunters whose goal is to kill demons and protect humanity. Many of them have banded together in an organization called Qingchen Pavilion. The heroine starts out as a sword and later becomes human...
