Shana once thought her life would follow the path laid out by her father's connections, leading to a predetermined future where she would give her younger brother and sister the future they wanted. But on that moonless, starless night, she lost her left eye, her brother and sister, and her wet nurse.
The girl who saved her was Kanae Kocho, a member of the civilian organization known as the Demon Slayer Corps. Once her body had recovered, and with the recommendation of Kanae's group and the Stone Hashira, Shana became the apprentice of the former Sound Hashira. She never again let go of her Nichirin Blade.
She didn't want anyone else to die in the remote mountains, where help was so hard to find.
"Don't be afraid. The stars will always lead you home."
