Writer Ji Nian came to the Gannan grasslands in search of true freedom and open horizons.
She thought she'd find endless wilderness to spark her inspiration, but instead she ran into poachers. Beaten in the lower leg while trying to protect a Tibetan antelope, she was taken back to the wildlife conservation station to recover.
When Captain Lin Gu'an learned why she had come, he hoped a somewhat well-known writer might help more people learn about the place. So once Ji Nian had recovered, he took her out onto the grasslands, where she let her flesh and blood become one with nature.
But an international poacher from years ago returned, and danger could strike at any moment.
Lin Gu'an stubbornly insisted on sending Ji Nian back. Only after watching her get into the departing car did he breathe a sigh of relief and prepare to risk everything against the poachers.
But he didn't know that Ji Nian had never planned to retreat. Through her writing, she would tell the world that these spirits of the grasslands had the right to share the wilderness with humanity. She would tell that captain that her love had never known fear, whether for them or for him.
