After her teacher's death, Jia Simin, a witch with little magic and an insatiable appetite, became the last witch on the continent.
To obtain the most powerful magic in the world, Jia Simin follows her teacher's final wishes, leaving home aboard a mobile magical vehicle to seek the names of living beings and accumulate magical power.
But names aren't given away for free. Jia Simin promises to trade one thing for another.
She trades flower cakes with mermaids;
She gives fried instant noodles to centaurs;
She even sells tiny fish wontons to pirates!
With the raccoon beastfolk Zoyi, who fell from the sky, at her side,
Jia Simin travels in fits and starts across four islands: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.
Her collection of names keeps growing, and her pack grows heavier,
while her grand quest for magic seems as far away as ever.
But Jia Simin can't be bothered with all that. She only cares that:
The big fish on Winter Island has been salted!
The peanuts on Autumn Island have been ground!
The beef balls on Summer Island have been shaped!
The silkworm pupae on Spring Island have been fried!
Hey, why is Zoyi all riled up again?!
P.S. The setting is all made up by me, so please don't compare it to reality. This is most likely a cheerful foodie road-trip story. Blurb archived on January 31, 2026.

Taking advantage of the National Day to tie the knot, it looks great! 🤩
All the people I meet are good people 🌈
Alas, when will this unequal situation improve?
Foreshadowing? Human-animal transformation experiment?
