Even in the height of summer, the boy was still brimming with energy.
Class 10, Grade 11, was at the bottom of the rankings in all of Changyuan No. 6 High School.
Everyone knew they were mediocre at everything, except for sports.
But the turning point came in Grade 11.
A transfer student joined Class 10 and beat the undefeated top student from Class 1 on his very first exam, becoming the top student in the grade.
Lin Renwan stared blankly at her new desk mate.
"You? The top student in the grade?"
Song Chaoye smiled faintly. "What, you got a problem with it, idiot?"
"..."
"Have you really been alive for a long time?" Lin Renwan asked him.
"Mm. A long time."
Long enough that, without realizing it, he had forgotten a lot of things.
"No wonder you're such a sharp-tongued jerk."
Lin Renwan grumbled, "You're an old fossil. How have you not kicked the bucket after all these years?"
Song Chaoye: "."

Class 10 won every sports meet gold medal year after year. Their rivals in Class 1 couldn't take it anymore and insisted on having a friendly match.
As expected, they were crushed.
The top students in Class 1 exploded, cursing them out. "Damn it, are you guys in Class 10 even human?"
The students of Class 10, led by Lin Renwan, stood on the field with smiles on their faces. Against the brilliant crimson sunset, their shadows subtly transformed into something inhuman.
"Shh. We're not human."
"We're monsters."
[Sharp-tongued, shameless old monster x dramatic, hyperactive Sister Lin]
