Synopsis
After a thousand years of suffering in the dog-eat-dog world of cultivation, Xing Ling finally avenged himself.
Even at the cost of his life.
The cold was bone-deep that day, yet he felt an immense sense of relief.
But just as his consciousness was about to fade, a System found him and proposed a deal.
After hearing the terms, a mocking look, sharp as icicles, filled Xing Ling's pale, beautiful face as he stared straight at the System.
"You want me to play a dating game?"
Had this System really found the right person?
He was a bloodstained avenger, a god who had forsaken love.
Wasn't this basically asking him to sever romantic ties and cut off the threads of affection?
Heart Signal is a dating game where players can choose the protagonist's gender. It is set in a fictional modern world with supernatural elements.
The game begins on campus.
One day, a transfer student arrives at the academy. Rumor has it that the school specially invited him because of his outstanding grades.
The new transfer student is an unremarkable-looking boy.
His messy hair and old-fashioned black-rimmed glasses conceal half his face, which is marked by a birthmark. He hunches his back and seems timid and awkward.
At first, nobody pays any attention to this frail, ordinary transfer student.
Nobody thinks that a timid loser like him could survive an investigation.
The academy's elite despise him, yet he keeps pestering them without understanding boundaries.
To them, the boy is an insignificant ant with no sense of his own place.
Investigation missions are fraught with danger. Nobody wants to bring along an ugly, useless idiot.
Still, there is something undeniably strange about the transfer student, whether it's the indifference that occasionally shows through his thick glasses, or his tall, slender frame beneath his cheap clothes.
Before they know it, these proud elites are captivated by him.
They even resort to threats and bribes, stopping at nothing.
Then urban legends invade the campus. They watch as the useless coward they once looked down on massacres the monsters and leads the school to a crushing victory.
His thick black-rimmed glasses fall off by accident, revealing a pair of icy eyes.
His disguise gone, his cool, exquisite features are revealed in all their glory.
Only then do people realize that this boy is no timid loser.
He is the moon, high above and beyond their reach.
The elites bow their proud heads, but receive only indifference in return.
It seems everything was wrong from the start. A lofty god would never show mercy to a madman.
But even a single glance from him is enough to make them content.
The boy says calmly, "I already have dogs. More than one."
They begin their clumsy pursuit, learning to pester him and curry his favor.
The young masters, who have never lifted a finger around the house, learn to cook.
Just as the boy once did, they offer him the meals they've prepared, looking hopeful.
He accepts them casually, then turns and dumps them straight into the trash.
The young masters who once sneered at him begin writing him love letters.
They watch as the boy gently accepts them, then, while they beam with delight, his long, pale fingers tear their heartfelt words to pieces.
Full of hope, they invite him to join their team. When he refuses, they finally lose their temper.
They put on the airs of the elite and criticize him for not knowing his place.
"Who does he think he is? We're the chosen ones!"
They loudly discuss him, while privately entertaining base, sinister thoughts. Each has their own agenda, and they mock one another for being fools.
Then an official letter arrives, humbly asking the boy for help.
They assume this is just another powerful connection the boy has managed to make, but the contents of the letter shatter every dark suspicion before everyone's eyes.
"To the esteemed legendary investigator..."
Seeing their incredulous faces, the boy finds it laughable. They can't even handle this?
Who do they think they are? The real show is just beginning.
Cool, beautiful, powerful, tragic, and adored by all, the receiving lead x the official pairing, whose identity is kept secret for now
Not a ship-betting story, but readers are free to ship whoever they like. A full-scale dog-training story, with a battlefield of rivals and a groveling pursuit of the receiving lead.
The official partner is a good dog. The others are bad dogs.
P.S. This is my own take on the setting.
Theme: Love can save people.
