Time rewinds two thousand years. Surrounded by skyscrapers and busy traffic, Damon stands bewildered in the middle of the road, savoring the peace of a world without zombies.

"Beep! Beep-beep!" Horns blare without pause. "Are you trying to get yourself killed?" a driver yells, leaning out the window.

Damon hurriedly dodges onto the sidewalk, where he runs into ten-year-old Chen Cheng, holding the hand of another version of himself. The beautiful eyes he remembers no longer hold a place for him.

"A Meng! It's me, Damon!" He waves his arm until it aches.

Hearing his nickname, Chen Cheng jumps and stares at him. His voice is still childish. "Big brother, who are you?"

A thunderclap seems to crash down on Damon. His face goes deathly pale as he looks at the child he had rejected a thousand times, the boy who was willing to die first to protect him.

Chen Cheng doesn't want him anymore!?

In Chen Cheng's clear eyes, another face is reflected. Damon isn't the person he used to be!

Damon can no longer lie to himself. He misses Chen Cheng so much he feels like he's going crazy!

Damon's eyes widen. The meaning in Chen Cheng's gaze makes his voice go husky. Delighted, yet a little sad, he asks, "You don't like Damon anymore?"

Chen Cheng wraps his arms around his neck and rises on tiptoe, his breath sweet against Damon's face. "Weren't you here all along?"

Damon realizes what he means. He scoops him up in one arm, his eyes filled with laughter. "Uncle has plenty of strength."
