Cheerful, warm-hearted Alpha x proud, gloomy, obsessive Miaojiang Omega (who can use love potions)
Jing Wen Yue transmigrated into a book and became a disposable Alpha destined to be fed to the fish.
In the original story, she was an emotional comforter to the protagonist bottom, then fell in love with the protagonist bottom, Du Yingluo, the high-ranking young Miaojiang clan leader who suffered terribly from pheromone instability.
She pursued the protagonist bottom relentlessly. And what happened? The protagonist top and bottom got their happy ending, while she was bundled up and tossed into the moat for refusing to give up.
When Jing Wen Yue woke up, the original character's tragic fate was still echoing in her mind.
She sighed and decided to live differently: stay away from Du Yingluo, bring the main couple together, then bow out once the job was done.
Du Yingluo was a Miao girl proud to her very core.
She was like a black rose covered in thorns. Everyone in the Miao village said the young clan leader had a strange temper, and anyone who offended her would fare worse than someone bitten by a snake.
Jing Wen Yue had a rare "warm sunshine" scent, which had a fatal healing effect on Du Yingluo's icy pheromone instability.
And so began a mutually beneficial arrangement.
Jing Wen Yue would provide pheromone comfort, while Du Yingluo would give her gold, jewels, and protection.
On the surface, Jing Wen Yue was a kept pheromone provider. In reality, she was trying to play matchmaker between Du Yingluo and Qing Han, the original novel's protagonist top.
Qing Han was a top-tier Alpha, and in the original story, she and Du Yingluo were the destined couple.
But the plot began to change because of Jing Wen Yue. Qing Han didn't fall for Du Yingluo, and instead became deeply interested in Jing Wen Yue, the "disposable side character."
Even the iconic scene in which Qing Han rescued Du Yingluo from danger was changed into a scene where she rescued Jing Wen Yue.
Jing Wen Yue was at her wit's end.
She only wanted to keep her head down and survive, not get caught up in a love triangle.
She kept approaching Du Yingluo, healing her with her pheromones, then turning around and pushing her toward Qing Han.
"Young Clan Leader, Miss Qing Han is actually a good match for you."
"Young Clan Leader, it's a lovely moonlit night. Why not go see Miss Qing Han?"
Du Yingluo would always look at her coldly, her gaze unreadable.
Jing Wen Yue thought she was shy, never realizing that what she saw in her eyes was a possessiveness on the verge of spilling over.
Then came the day Jing Wen Yue planned to finish the job and leave the Miao village.
She was locked away in a stilt house deep in the mountains.
Outside the window, rain poured endlessly. Inside, the air was thick with an intoxicating fragrance.
Du Yingluo sat on the edge of the bed, toying with an exquisite silver love-potion case.
She was no longer the patient in need of comfort, but a hunter in complete control.
"Jing Wen Yue, did you think I kept you by my side just for your pheromones?"
Du Yingluo's voice was soft and husky, with a dangerous hint of laughter.
With a flick of her fingers, she undid Jing Wen Yue's collar, revealing the vivid red love-potion mark on her collarbone.
"The love potion has entered your bones. You'll never escape my grasp in this lifetime."
Jing Wen Yue froze.
It turned out that all that so-called "comfort" was just a disguise Du Yingluo used to let her guard down.
This gloomy little black rose had long since claimed her as her own.
Just then, Qing Han's voice came from outside the door.
"Du Yingluo, where have you hidden Wen Yue?"
Qing Han's powerful pheromones flooded the room, trying to suppress the heady scent within.
Du Yingluo was completely unruffled.
She leaned down and whispered in Jing Wen Yue's ear:
"Look, she gave up even pretending to be an Alpha for your sake."
"But you're mine."
Jing Wen Yue was caught between two women, unable to move forward or back.
On one side was the obsessive, gloomy young Miaojiang clan leader who had used a love potion on her.
On the other was the original novel's protagonist top, who had disguised herself as an Alpha and pursued her relentlessly.
She only wanted to be a happy couch potato. Why was that so hard?
Du Yingluo kissed away the tear at the corner of her eye, her voice so gentle it made her tremble.
"Don't be afraid, baby."
"Just behave, and I'll give you the very best of everything."
"Including... myself."
Jing Wen Yue: "..."
Weren't you supposed to end up together? How did I wind up getting caught in the middle?
