Important notes:

1. The two get back together after breaking up, and there are misunderstandings. Please don’t bash either protagonist.

2. The variety show is made up, and this world is very accepting of same-sex couples.

3. The protagonist is a little sharp-tongued. They bicker and snap at each other all the time.

Bai Chenchuan took one step back, and Qi Fangsheng took ten steps forward.

Bai Chenchuan said their relationship should be handled carefully and sensibly. Qi Fangsheng pretended he’d misheard and leaned in for a kiss.

It wasn’t until Qi Fangsheng’s engagement to the real young master was all but finalized that Bai Chenchuan finally relaxed and began planning his escape.

On the day of the engagement banquet, just as he was about to grab his luggage and flee the house,

Qi Fangsheng, who should have been at the banquet, stood silently before him, his eyes full of overwhelming possessiveness.

Qi Fangsheng asked miserably, “Are you going to leave me?”

How could Bai Chenchuan answer? He turned and ran.

But it was too late.

The alpha easily tightened and knotted his tie around Bai Chenchuan’s wrists. Their tussle sent the luggage scattering across the floor, and neither of them could spare a moment to pick it up.

Bai Chenchuan struggled desperately, trying to use the engagement banquet to bring him to his senses.

The alpha’s easy smile vanished, taking his old gentle facade with it. He lightly tapped Bai Chenchuan’s cheek with his palm.

“The engagement banquet is canceled. Now you’re going to stay with me through my rut.”

Not quite modern, with some alternate-world elements.

Important notes:

1. 1v1, both virgins, childhood friends.

2. The top is a little unhinged and possessive. All in all, he’s not exactly normal.

3. The bottom puts self-interest first and is cold by nature. He’s definitely not an honest person. The blurb is somewhat misleading.

4. Both characters suffer. Neither is favored.

5. No children. One of my original settings is that betas can sense faint pheromones. The bottom has pheromone insensitivity.

6. Lots of original worldbuilding.

7. An unconventional bitter romance.
