[Western Crossover] To Stay Sane, I Became an Idiot

The protagonist is a distant nephew of Batman. Mild cosmic horror elements. Jason pairing.

A short story written to get my creative juices flowing again. I may not continue it.

As a rational investigator, Vitus believed that ignorance was the best cure.

During a field assignment, Vitus was contaminated. To keep his sanity, he returned to Wayne Manor, where the Eye of Ignorance and Blindness was kept.

The contamination had yet to be eliminated, and the Eye of Ignorance and Blindness made him choose between his rationality and his intelligence. As his intelligence kept plummeting, an alien avatar System, contaminated by the ✳ god, appeared within him. The brainwashed System made noise in his ear all day, urging him to spread "knowledge." To preserve his intelligence, Vitus agreed to do what it asked.

The System wanted Vitus to become an avatar of the ✳ god, spread its faith among the people, create "miracles," and summon the god.

Vitus agreed, but he was just an idiot.

Idiots can do anything and no one will find it strange.

And so, in the disaster-ridden Gotham, there appeared...

Hooves, bird wings, spider legs, and a fish tail.

A Gothamite passing by the scene (whistling): "Hey, a succubus!"

Jason grabbed his idiot brother to stop him from throwing himself into the enemy's arms, then raised the RPG-7 in his hands.

Theme: Long live reason.
