Yu Qiao comes from a family of farmers stretching back three generations.
When the full-dive era began, he didn't hesitate to choose the [Farmer] class in the wildly popular full-dive game Realm Unknown.
While everyone else fought monsters and raced up the combat rankings, he treated the game like Q.Q. Farm, watering flowers and growing plants every day as he settled into a peaceful farming life.
He only enjoyed a few days of comfort before disaster struck.
[Earth offline. All players permanently stranded in Realm Unknown.]
Combat-weak farmer Yu Qiao looked at the quest on his task list, [Kill the Mutated Puppet], shouted, "Even the best martial artist can be beaten with a kitchen knife!" and charged in.
Then he was instantly killed.
Yu Qiao: Boo-hoo! I died so horribly!
Maybe his crying was too loud, because the lousy System unexpectedly had a change of heart and gave him one chance to be reborn.
Reborn, Yu Qiao was given two choices:
A. Choose a new class and stop being combat-weak.
B. Take a black card printed with a half-crying, half-smiling face:
[Fate's Gift]: Teleport one heavily wounded NPC to your side. Picking it up establishes a friend relationship.
(Helpful tip: Fate's gifts may occasionally play a harmless joke on you.)
Yu Qiao looked at the golden wheat seeds just sprouting in his farm, then at the card.
After careful consideration (one second), he decisively chose B.
...What was a heavily wounded NPC, if not a powerhouse he could cling to? He was going to cling to the strongest one!
Yu Qiao immediately entered the name of Realm Unknown's strongest, most overpowered hero into the System panel.
The Light Saint: one of the strongest players on the server, a classic overpowered hero in a fantasy world. He awakened the talent of one-hundred-percent affinity for light at a young age, bore the destiny of the Child of Light, and enjoyed the full backing of the Holy Domain's resources. His life had gone smoothly until the one disaster he ever faced: an ambush by a mysterious top-tier assassin.
Rescuing the Saint was a legendary hidden quest, and no one on the server had ever completed it. The assassin's true identity remained a mystery.
A moment later, Yu Qiao found a gravely wounded man beneath the big tree in his own farm, looking exactly like the Light Saint.
He had lost his memory.
Yu Qiao was overjoyed. Amnesia was great! It was the perfect chance to raise his affection!
And so, a bizarre scene played out in the little farm:
Combat-weak Yu Qiao spent money like water every day, buying the amnesiac man the most expensive swords and the toughest shields. He watched the man move with power and precision, and even went over to feel his muscles when he got the chance.
Yu Qiao looked at the powerhouse he had latched onto and felt pleased with himself every single day!
Until one day, news came from the neighboring Azure Holy Domain: the real Light Saint was about to be crowned Pope.
Yu Qiao: ??
He secretly slipped away from the man at home to take a look. Seeing the Saint surrounded by thick waves of light at the center of the holy city, he finally understood: Oh no, he'd latched onto the wrong powerhouse!
That night, Yu Qiao stomped around angrily in the inn and swore that the next day he would make the "fake" at home return everything he'd eaten and used!
Then came a knock at the door.
Yu Qiao opened it, his pupils contracting in shock!
The man, whose golden hair had once shone brightly, now stood in the heavy shadows with ink-black hair. His slender shadow stretched endlessly across the ground.
He curled his lips into a faint smile.
Yu Qiao hurriedly shut the door.
But the long, narrow shadow on the ground seeped through the crack beneath the door, then gathered behind him again like flowing water.
A hand gently gripped his shoulder, pulling him firmly into an embrace.
A low, familiar voice sounded softly beside his ear:
"Qiao Qiao, didn't you say you'd take care of me for the rest of my life?"
Yu Qiao's whole body stiffened.
How had he forgotten? Assassins and knights followed almost identical paths of cultivation in the early stages, while shadow infiltration and shadow clones were standard skills for top-tier assassins...
So who exactly had he been taking care of all this time?!
