The making of a human dinosaur, and the path to becoming the Great Zheng’s first female God of War
A sunny but genuinely fearsome Miao king vs. her beautiful, tragic, cold and crazed childhood sweetheart
Also known as: The childhood sweetheart I kidnapped to be my husband
There are countless human dinosaurs in the world, and half of them live in the Miao mountains.
“Labor’s Shu Road Mountain” is her catchphrase, and “I’ll beat your coffin boards to pieces” is her way of doing things. She is Wu Xianyu, the first female Miao king of the Miao mountains.
She was once just a country girl, hot-tempered and sharp-tongued. She never wanted a leadership job, but there was no one else in the Miao mountains, so she reluctantly spent a few years as the lord of a mountain territory. Before long, she’d gone from the mountains to the imperial court, from territorial lord to Miao king. She was ennobled as a marquis and made a great general guarding the south. Even the Great Zheng emperor became her devoted fan, cheering her on from the sidelines.
Without meaning to, she became famous, secured a permanent post, and even earned a hereditary title. She went down in history as a female God of War.
Her career was thriving, though her love life generated a few rumors. Xin Nianqing, the finest young man in all the Miao mountains, was her childhood sweetheart and the only person in the world who thought she was gentle and considerate. Sadly, he was poisoned by a Miao curse during the chaos of war and died before he could make it home.
Later, she kidnapped a man who had come from elsewhere and made him her husband, claiming it was love at first sight. The truth was, she had no choice: he was her immediate superior, and he was so frail he couldn’t look after himself. Who else could protect the pacification commissioner in such a chaotic world, if not the Miao king?
But the truth was that the handsome widower, the pacification commissioner, had brought his son to the Miao mountains himself. He shamelessly insisted on staying as a guest and wouldn’t leave the Miao king’s side for a moment. His son was even worse: he actually called the Miao king “Mama”! How had she somehow ended up with a husband and become a mother without any effort?
Because a mother grows strong for her child, of course. Otherwise, how could people explain her incredible strength?
People often joked that the Miao king’s husband was the only male commander on the battlefield who could shout, “Wife, save me!” without a trace of shame.
It was true. He was both useless and eager to play, and whenever he got in over his head, all he could do was yell, “Wife, save me!” The Miao king wanted to sew his mouth shut. Luckily, his son was so adorable that she put up with it for the child’s sake.
But after winning several battles together with the pacification commissioner, that handsome widower, the Miao king realized how well they worked together.
When their partnership came to an end and the commissioner was unceremoniously driven out of the Miao mountains, one of her female soldiers finally spoke up. “Miao King, the pacification commissioner looks a lot like your sweetheart. Even their clothes are the same size...”
That was right. They not only had similar builds, but they were alike in many other ways, too. No matter how hard he tried to hide it, a person’s eyes never lied.
Her sweetheart had been afflicted by the Miao “Love-Bond” curse. The only chance of survival was for both parties to be in love. Could it be that the frail, helpless superior she’d kidnapped was actually her brave, battle-hardened, cold and crazed childhood sweetheart?!
As his figure gradually disappeared into the forest, she called over her two most trusted aides, ready to kidnap him again. This time, she’d take him back to the Miao mountains to get married, and make him wear Xin Nianqing’s wedding clothes...
P.S.
1. The story is loosely based on the Ming dynasty. The romance is concentrated in the final arc, making up one-third of the book.
2. An unconventional slow burn focused on personal growth, with a complete character arc for the heroine. Not a conventional romance, but a passionate ensemble story set in the Miao frontier.
3. An unconventional “marriage first, love later” 1v1 romance.
4. Not a strong-female-lead story, but an ensemble tale. Every major character gets their moment in the spotlight, not just the leads.
5. Very unconventional: the male and female leads spend a third of the story apart, each pursuing their own career. Please skip it if that bothers you.
6. Secret identities revealed, mutual healing, war and political intrigue, folklore and the supernatural, and an ensemble of heroes: it has it all!
(Completed in July 2026.)
Theme: Defy the tide of convention and become your one and only self
Miaoling Travel is over 🥺 🥺 I feel so sad to leave you At first, I clicked in because I was curious about the Miao family's Gu magic and the life of the Miao family, and then I was deeply attracted by the characters and stories inside. My wife is very attentive and very good at portraying characters. After reading this group portrait novel, in addition to the protagonist, there are many characters that impressed me and liked me. The author of the story book, Wu Qingshan, who loves freedom by nature, Chang Ge, who is virtuous and wifely, but is actually a little angel, Lao Pan, who is loving but restrained and awkward, and Lao Deng, who makes people want to slap him to death. Every character is very vivid. They meet each other by chance in Miaoling. They have friendship, love, family affection, family troubles, conspiracies and calculations. It is interesting to watch. Not to mention the protagonist, the heroine who is born with a bad temper and is not easy to mess with is really the little overlord of Miaoling. She will do whatever she doesn't want, she can move her hands but not her mouth, and she will never let her mouth get used to it. Hahahaha, she is so valiant and can defeat all the invincible opponents in the world. People have to live like the heroine to not feel aggrieved. However, the heroine's growth experience is really tragic. The author talks about the grievances and hatreds of two generations. Although the heroine grew up with love, she also lost too many people she cared about when she grew up, including relatives, friends, teammates, and subordinates, in order to protect Miaoling. In the end, only the male protagonist was left by her side. Fortunately, the male protagonist survived to the end with a mouthful of blood, otherwise he would be very sad. The male protagonist is really a lovable little pitiful person who silently protects, understands and supports the heroine. He is a sweetheart and childhood sweetheart. It's so cute. This book is written from the heroine's green years to the King of Qin in the north, and finally grows into the general of Zhennan. The heroine's perseverance and responsibility are well written. Although we now pay attention to lying flat, persistence and responsibility are even more valuable qualities. Because there are people in front to withstand the wind and rain, we can lie flat. Some people are worthy of praise. I give the heroine a big thumbs up, a hero among women [Like] Keep up the great work and wait for the next book [Make Me Well and Well]
After reading the third volume, "The Origin of Chungju", I was deeply touched and still unfinished... The author really did not disappoint me! Both the writing and layout are excellent! There is no exaggerated plot in this volume. Instead, it takes Chungju as the starting point and slowly unfolds the past grudges of two generations and the growth and persistence of a group of people. Whether it is the vivid and three-dimensional characters, the delicate and sincere feelings between them, or the layers of foreshadowing, I can truly feel the sincerity and foundation of this work, as well as the author's overflowing talent ~ pen core ~ The reason why this volume is named "Origin from Zhongzhou" is that after reading it, I really understood that Zhongzhou is not only a city, but also the starting point of all stories - the heroine Wu Xianyu was born and raised here, and her mother Jiang Hesu once burst out with power to protect one side. The grievances between the hero Xin Nianqing's father Yang Qingzhi and the three friends of Miaoling and the origin of Xinchuan swordsmanship are also rooted here, including the rise and fall of Jiemei Villa, the power of the court and Miaoling The game also revolves around this city. This volume is like tracing back to its origins, unfolding the grievances of the previous generation, the growth of this generation, and the intertwining of everyone's fate, so that all subsequent choices and pursuits have their origins. This volume is written about "causes" and "reasons," so the word "origin" is more appropriate. Chungju has never been a simple place name, but the origin of the entire story. The growth and shaping of the heroine Wu Xianyu still surprises me. From being the leader of Wuyingling alone, to shielding the people of Quzhou from arrows, to the tenderness shown when she reunites with her sweetheart, she has the responsibility to kill decisively, but also has the fatigue hidden under the strength. She has the obsession with her mother's life experience, and the responsibility to the people of her hometown. The characters are three-dimensional and real. The male protagonist Xin Nianqing is also heart-wrenching. He is deeply confused by the mystery of his life experience, and then finds out his father's injustice step by step, and finally lets go of his hatred. His tolerance of guilt and silent protection of the female protagonist are really touching. As for the portrayal of the emotional line between the two, it is still delicate and restrained. The male and female protagonists Xin Nianqing and Wu Xianyu finally completed the key transformation from being separated from each other to reuniting after a long separation in the last few chapters of this article. I was in tears when I saw it, hahaha, mainly because I waited too long! The two of them had gone back and forth before, always on parallel lines, until they finally met again in the secret passage of their childhood... So this slow and deep two-way rush is particularly heart-breaking! It also makes me look forward to the two of them completely untying the knot in the past and facing the wind and rain side by side~ The supporting characters' scenes are also very good, such as Pan Jingyin's forbearing and heavy protection of Jiang Hesu, giving up his identity and being trapped in Chiyou's tribe for life, only to give her a lifetime of stability. Another example is that Yayi was trapped in the hatred of his brother's death for many years, but finally reconciled with himself and completed his inner redemption. There is also Qu Wanzhou's destruction of a century-old villa to protect the people of a city, and the bloody battle until the last moment, which vividly describes the character of the Jianghu people. There is also the innocent and innocent love between Leng Quanqin and Pei Xiaoman, etc., Etc., Every line is naturally bloodless, making the entire Jianghu story full of fireworks and human touch. I am extremely looking forward to seeing the male and female protagonists put aside their grudges and join hands to face the storm between Miao Ling and Chaotang in the follow-up plot. I look forward to the suspense and foreshadowing being slowly revealed. I also sincerely hope that this group of good-hearted and persevering people in the world will get what they want and usher in their own perfection after the storm! This story is gentle and powerful to read, and it is worth collecting slowly and carefully. I am already impressed by the author's great talent and layout! (Give me my knees. Jpg)
The love between Wu Xianyu and Xin Nianqing reminds me of the attachment theory in psychology. Nowadays, people always like to regard heartbreaking love as love, but in fact, the momentary heartbeat and intense impulse are only the prerequisites for love, not love itself. Attachment theory's definition of love has two aspects. One is a safe harbor, which is a place where you can go back when you are hurt. As long as you are there, it will not hurt so much. The second is a safe base, which is the starting point to explore the world. Because I know that he is there, I dare to stride forward, because when I am tired, that place is always there. Wu Xianyu is a safe harbor for Xin Nianqing. As long as I am here, he will not look back even if he suffers the pain of being cut into pieces by thousands of knives and poisonous poisons. Because she was there, he felt less pain. Xin Nianqing is a safe base for Wu Xianyu. Because Xin Nianqing has been standing silently behind her, she dares to stride upwards with confidence, farther and farther. Because he was there, she knew there was someone who would take care of everything she had. I was really moved by the love between Wu Xianyu and Xin Nianqing. It seemed like the water was gurgling, but in the end I realized it was a huge flood. The stamina was too great 555 Wuwu Little Couple 99 Ah 😭~
I read the whole story from the beginning again, and it felt... Soul-stirring. The author's construction of the entire worldview is grand, very delicate, and very advanced. It reads very smoothly. Many plot scenes will automatically play in my mind. No matter how slow the first part is, the later parts will be exciting, passionate, and burning! As the foreshadowing was withdrawn one by one, I felt reluctant to leave after reading it. The characters in it also stayed with me for a long time. To be honest, I was reluctant to say goodbye to these characters (so I deliberately kept a few extra chapters to slowly reflect on them in the future hahh) The author really did not disappoint me, haha. The high level was maintained until the end. Among the last two volumes, the one that moved me the most was the "Parents Love Story" of the male protagonist Xin Nianqing. Yes, I want to talk about my feelings about this unparalleled sadomasochism between them. First of all, I really like the male protagonist's mother [Xin Yi]. She dares to love and hate, she is courageous and upright, not to mention her good looks, military intelligence and other hard skills. She is a woman with big plans and responsibilities, and is not washed away by the traditional Han-Miao antagonism. Instead, he gave a helping hand to the injured Yang Qingzhi, and in the future we got along with him physically and mentally. [Actually, I think the heroine also has the shadow of her mother-in-law. She is very sassy and straightforward, and dares to act... Well, can this be said? . Jpg] The name of the male protagonist's father [Yang Qingzhi] is also very meaningful. It means that Qing Anzhi symbolizes the family's hope for his safe return. But later in the plot, I found that his brother [Yang Ruli] from the old Yang family was really annoying. In order to protect the interests of the family, he actually let his subordinates kill Xinyi with tokens. After entering the Xin clan, Xin Yi was suspected by her tribe and lost everything. Even though she was betrayed by her good sisters, she also learned that Yang Qingzhi was about to marry a certain daughter in Chongzhou. Even though she was extremely sad, she still did not regret meeting Yang Qingzhi or being pregnant with her child. She dared to love and hate, so sassy and decisive! The reunion between the male protagonist and Xin Yi's mother and son brought tears to my eyes. As the male protagonist peeled off layers of cocoons, he investigated the real cause of his father's death... I was really tortured to the extreme! It turns out that Yang Qingzhi did not betray Xin Yi. He came to the cliff where she died despite being injured. In order to resurrect his lover, he volunteered to be the medicine guide to resurrect her. In the end, Xin Yi traveled to famous mountains and rivers with the hope of reuniting with him, and left a letter to the male protagonist. How can this not be considered another kind of perfection? It's just that the male protagonist is bitter, I feel like he is just a little bitter melon in the world, and the female protagonist is not very sweet, so they are a good match. There are indeed many complementarities and similarities between the male and female protagonists, which can be seen more accurately by outsiders. For example, in one scene, Cheng Qianfan summarized the two of them: [Both are rebellious, but full of compassion, but the heroine's rebelliousness is more open. Isn't it too accurate? Because there was a lot of foreshadowing in the previous chapters and a solid plot arrangement, the male protagonist's subsequent growth seemed very natural and not abrupt at all. For example, when he was surrounded and bullied by other enemies after he returned to Wuyingling, he might have suffered silently in the past, but when he returned to this position, he showed his courage and murderousness, and was so handsome. He was worthy of being a passionate man like his father. In addition, there are many supporting characters that made me miss, such as the dead brother and sister of the heroine, and the cps of the wolf boy and the female animal trainer. They are all vivid and interesting. In the last volume, my favorite supporting character is Wu Qingshan. She disguises herself as a man and is spotted by the heroine at a glance. The two spend the night together in the same room. The hero becomes jealous because of this, which is interesting to see. What particularly moved me is that the hero is jealous because he is worried that the heroine will be sad after Qingshan leaves. I think the male protagonist has the gift of loving others. Like his mother, he is sincere and loyal without reservation. Real love is respect, understanding and care. Okay, I will share my thoughts after reading this story here. I hope Wu Xianyu and her Nianqing brother will never be separated in love and harmony in the parallel world.
Aaa ended so soon, so reluctant to let go, Wu Xin 999 [Ju Tang] [Ju Tang] [Ju Tang]
[Purple Sugar]kswl ah ah my little couple are finally together! I really like this dialogue under the moon, which transcends the boundaries of love. Wu Xianyu has such a big picture. She has grown up faster than I thought. I like this rebellious but compassionate Lord Miao 💪 💪 💪
So is Xin Nianqing's mother-in-law still alive? I really want to know the answer right away. . .
It's over. I briefly passed by and stayed in the world of the protagonist group for a while. I'm honored to share their story with you. The rhythm of the later period is much better than that of the early period. Each character has his own personality and can still remind me of their names after the end. Qingshan, Yudu, the Qu family brothers, those beautiful dancers and singers, and the Xiaoman couple. When I saw in the second half of the chapter, there are people offline in each chapter of the protagonist group. My heart stopped. I was thinking, what should I do with Xianyu? He is dead. They are all dead. Is there a twist? I have no time to care about whether there will be a reversal or values. I just want to know if any relatives or lovers will be by her side in the end? Fortunately, there is. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to Yang Qingzhi. I just want to say that you are really brave, but this era and concept are not worthy of the love you and Xin Yi have. And Nian Qing, what I want to say to you most is, please be more confident and don't doubt yourself, and please love yourself more. I think we understand you and your past from God's perspective. Except for you and Da Da, no one hopes more than us that you can grow up with your parents. Welcome to the end. This journey can only accompany you until here. I wish you peace. Landscapes are different in the end, and the joys and sorrows in the book end here. Even if there are regrets and sadness, fortunately everyone has found their own place. I will keep this tenderness and sincerity that belongs only to them in my heart. I wish the author will continue to work hard and write more touching romances, and I also wish everyone in the book will be worry-free and meet each other year after year.
Damn, is the next book in the same world and the same place as this one? I think there is Chungju
I really feel sorry for Xianyu. In just a few days, her relatives around her have died one after another, leaving her forever. She has no time to grieve in order to protect her heart. She can still remain calm under such circumstances. She really deserves to be called the female general of Miaoling. It's much better than some weak men who just yell about protecting their home and country all day long.
