[Spoiled Mute Young Master x Quiet, Gentle Older Brother]
Jiang Shi'an is mute. His family loves him and spoils him rotten, so much so that if he wanted the moon, they'd find a way to bring it down for him.
But he doesn't want the moon. He doesn't even know what he wants.
The doctor recommends that he spend more time with children his own age. For his sake, his parents bring home a child every so often, but without exception, Jiang Shi'an drives them all away.
His parents take him to an orphanage and let him choose a friend for himself.
The children at the orphanage are adorable, chirping like birds singing.
But Jiang Shi'an finds them unbearably annoying. He wants them all to shut their mouths, preferably so they can be just like him.
He is miserable, but then, among the crowd, he catches sight of a child sitting quietly, someone like him who can't speak.
Jiang Shi'an stares in a daze, then chooses the child who hasn't said a single word.
He thinks he's found someone like himself, until one day, when he's overjoyed to celebrate the other's birthday, he hears him say, "Thank you."
The cake slips from his hands, and Jiang Shi'an runs out of the house, his mind in a jumble.
When Jiang Suiyu finds him, it seems he has a lot to say. After a long while, the first thing out of his mouth is, "Come home with me. I won't talk anymore."
Like a drenched, pitiful puppy, he looks at Jiang Shi'an and pledges his loyalty.
Jiang Shi'an watches him for a moment, then reaches out and agrees.
On the way home, Jiang Shi'an lies against Jiang Suiyu, his nose full of the scent of mud and rain clinging to him.
His puppy has come back for him.
But a puppy who can talk, is it still his puppy?

Even before Jiang Suiyu came along, Jiang Shi'an was spoiled and willful. After Jiang Suiyu arrived, he became even more impossible.
He thinks Jiang Suiyu will spoil him for the rest of his life and never get angry with him. He has told Jiang Suiyu to leave and said he doesn't need him meddling plenty of times, but once, in the heat of the moment, his hands moved faster than his mind, and he signed one thing too many: My death has nothing to do with you!
Instead of comforting him, his older brother gives him a dark look.
Jiang Suiyu says, "Jiang Shi'an, say that again."
Jiang Shi'an is taken aback, but he has no idea how to back down. He nods furiously: I don't need you!
The person who usually worries so much about him getting hurt or feeling bad locks him up for a whole week, unmoved no matter how much he cries.
