Influenced by his mentor, former delinquent Song Chen resolves to become a teacher and change the fates of more students at the bottom of the class. But when he returns to his old school as a trainee teacher, he's assigned to Class 1, the honors class, as their homeroom teacher. Tan Shutong, his mentor's daughter and a hot-tempered top student, can't stand the teaching profession. But after failing to find a job, she reluctantly returns to high school as the homeroom teacher of Class 18, the class of stragglers. A rookie teacher versus students who don't want to change. Two groups who can't stand each other are forced to spend their days together. As they clash, their prejudices toward each other quietly begin to crumble... Meanwhile, Song Chen's old classmates, the previous generation of Class 18, are entering the workforce too. Living together in a rented place, they become the two rookie teachers' unofficial advisers. Though these post-adolescent young adults are already grown up, they face troubles much like those of middle schoolers. The stories of a houseful of '95ers who are rookies at adult life and a new generation of '05ers intertwine. Can they become the adults they hope to be?
