Back Before the Wedding [Period]

An Yiyue had learned about Xu Shuming from her younger sister long ago:

He was handsome, came from a military cadre family, and was a university graduate, a senior engineer at a major state-owned factory, and one of the promising successors being groomed by the ministry.

He had both looks and ability, but there was something wrong with his personality.

He was too upright and far too quiet. He often seemed like a perfect popsicle.

After marrying Xu Shuming in her sister's place and spending nine years with him, An Yiyue knew him even better.

They had never opened their hearts to each other or kissed. They fulfilled their marital duties only on Saturday nights, every week, using the same traditional position.

Deep down, An Yiyue longed for sweet, romantic love even more than her sister did. She yearned for the thrill of a racing heart and stepping out of line.

But as the eldest child in the family, she had been taught from childhood to give way and shoulder the family's responsibilities. She had long since suppressed herself into someone who didn't know how to refuse or ask for what she wanted.

After waking up one day, she suddenly found herself back before her wedding.

An Yiyue resolved to live differently.

She refused to give her job to her younger brother.

She refused to marry Xu Shuming in her younger sister's place.

The first thing went smoothly.

The second went even more smoothly than the first.

But on her way home after having coffee at a Western-style restaurant with an outgoing male colleague, An Yiyue was suddenly pinned beneath a streetlamp and kissed fiercely by Xu Shuming, the man who had always been so proper in both word and deed...
