Ever since his failed differentiation, Wen Yu has become invisible at home, only occasionally brought out as a cautionary example.

He always thought his life would just keep on quietly passing by.

Then, in his senior year of college, his mother interferes again, packing him off to another city for a job that pays just 880 yuan a month.

His life changes then, in a way no one could have expected.

Even Wen Yu himself can't understand why someone as ordinary as him would end up choosing to be with an alpha who is exceptional in every way.

An alpha who, according to rumor, nearly got engaged to him six years ago.

At first, all he wanted was to be friends with the other guy, but the man clings to him like a black-sesame rice cake.

Wen Yu is forced to drown in this sea of tenderness. Before he knows it, he sinks deeper and deeper of his own accord, unwilling to leave even after learning the truth.

This alpha charges in, talking about how they're made for each other.

Their lives only crossed briefly six years ago, but now this alpha has forcibly stuck them together and bound their fates.

Wen Yu has no choice. He wants to say that he's just a fragile, ordinary beta, unable to soothe him, and that he shouldn't waste his energy on him.

But this shameless alpha, who's always good at putting on an act, suddenly drops his usual cheeky grin and tells him solemnly:

Ever since Ning Shixu revealed his true nature, he's been completely clingy. Even when they're thousands of miles apart, he finds every possible way to fill Wen Yu's world with himself, using surveillance, texts, phone calls, and anything else he can think of.

He even threatens to lock Wen Yu up.

That's not acceptable. Wen Yu firmly refuses and calls him out on the act he's been putting on all along.

But when Ning Shixu grows nervous and uneasy, Wen Yu once again allows him to "keep an eye on him."

Sometimes Wen Yu feels he's far too indulgent with this alpha, but whenever the other man looks at him with a pitiful expression, he can't help softening.

Whenever Ning Shixu says, "But I'm really sad that I can't mark you," Wen Yu gives in completely, letting him do whatever he wants.

Afterward, lying on his stomach while Master Ning diligently massages his back, Wen Yu thinks: Never mind, I'm happy with things as they are.

Bonus scene~

Ning Shixu after they get together: If you knew my wife fell in love with me at first sight and does everything I say, and that all it takes to make him soften and come around is a little pouting, you'd think I was pretty lucky too~

Wen Yu (stiffly): I just didn't get a chance to say no...

P.S. In this story's setting, before secondary differentiation (full differentiation), there is a preparatory differentiation period of around two months. During this stage, those about to differentiate into alphas or omegas may, in rare cases, smell the pheromones of a highly compatible alpha in advance. This knowledge isn't widespread.
