The System stared at the well-behaved cat in her arms, its pupils trembling and circuits smoking as it questioned her in a quavering electronic voice:

"Isn't this the final villain who destroyed an entire minor world in the original story? How did he end up acting like this, rolling around and begging for affection?! What on earth did you do to him?!"

Mi Nian'an had her face buried in the kitten's soft belly, taking a deep sniff. Reluctantly looking up, she asked, "You mean... him?"

"Meow!" Xie Ning responded in a sweet, high-pitched voice.

With the plot completely derailed, the System flew into a rage and tossed Mi Nian'an into a spatial prison.

But the very next moment, the space was torn open in a wash of blood-red light.

The fluffy little creatures who had once done nothing but roll around and act cute by her side revealed the ferocious nature they had kept hidden. They trampled heaven and earth beneath their feet, all to come find her.

And Xie Ning, the little cat who used to be the most jealous and possessive of them all, had blood on his hands and a gaze filled with lonely cruelty and madness. His burning lips grazed her earlobe as he choked out hoarsely, "...Don't leave me."

[Bonus Scene]:

Mi Nian'an had always thought Xie Ning was just like the other fluffy creatures, an ordinary villainous kitten who loved to act cute and roll around.

Until she saw with her own eyes the Xie Ning who used to sprawl by her legs, belly exposed as he begged for pets, transform into a man in a moon-white robe, his face cold and distant in a way she had never seen before.

He stood atop the Immortal Palace, revered by thousands.
