Xu Xing received an email containing just one short line and an attachment.

The attachment opened to a chat window with an invitation from a production team, asking the recipient to appear on a show with their ex-girlfriend.

Xu Xing smiled faintly, remembering someone's endearing, tearful look, as though they were about to cry before they could even speak. She had always insisted on treating an ex as a stranger after a breakup, but now she found herself wavering.

After sending the email, Song Gaomin checked thirty-six times that the internet was working, twenty-three times that he'd sent it to the right person, and twenty-four times that the other party had received it. He also checked twenty-one times that he was awake and not dreaming. He waited from nightfall until dawn, and finally got a single word in reply.

"Okay."

The latest season of Transit Love premiered, and one topic immediately shot to the top of the trending list: just how much of a try-hard jerk was the fourth male contestant?

It was bad enough that he wore different tinted glasses around the house every day. His fashion was so trendy it gave viewers rheumatism through the screen.

While the shut-in guy he shared a room with came downstairs with bedhead, he was immaculate down to the last hair. With his striking, sharply featured looks, he stood out. When a female contestant asked him out, he acted like a block of wood, completely oblivious to romance. So viewers gave him the "affectionate" nickname: Jerk.

Viewer One: No wonder his girlfriend broke up with him. Who could stand someone that pretentious?

Viewer Two: Maybe get your eyes checked first. He wears sunglasses indoors every day.

On the dimly lit balcony, Song Gaomin backed Xu Xing into a corner and lowered his voice. "Otherwise, what? How else was I supposed to hold back my tears without the sunglasses? Every time I see those guys crowding around you, and I have no right to do anything about it, I get so mad I want to cry!"

The jerk immediately turned into a weepy little dog, dropping to his knees to beg her to take him back, tears welling in his eyes and rolling down his cheeks.

The whole screen filled with viewers screaming that they were obsessed with the couple and cheering the sister on as she trained her dog!

1. The show has a few differences from the original setup.

2. The heroine is the hero's first love. Her previous relationship only lasted one day, which will be explained in the story.

3. No real-life inspirations, just my personal preferences.
