“Let me have a kiss!”
Amid the bustling banquet, young Shen Ruoyi shoved Yin Heng, who was about as tall as she was, over to the flower bed. Her voice was childish, but her tone was utterly confident.
Yin Heng’s eyes went wide. His dark pupils reflected a pretty, fierce little pink dumpling.
He wanted to refuse, but his face turned red and he couldn’t squeeze out a single word.
“Smack!”
Shen Ruoyi got her wish. She was delighted, then promptly forgot all about it.
But from that day on, Yin Heng couldn’t stand the sight of girls.
Years later, Shen Ruoyi traveled to the capital and got into trouble. A handsome, tall young general surnamed Yin came to her rescue.
She gave him her name and thanked him, privately noting that he was a possible candidate for her future husband.
Looking down at her mud-splattered face, he suddenly sneered. “Shen Ruoyi, so this is what you’ve come to.”
With that, he actually walked away, leaving her where she stood.
From then on, neither of them would give an inch.
That was until Shen Ruoyi learned that Yin Heng had never met with any women for marriage prospects because she had forced a kiss on him when they were children.
Feeling guilty for once, she went to his home to apologize.
But Yin Heng wouldn’t let it go.
“Let me have a kiss.” His gaze darkened as he stared at her lips. “Then I’ll forgive you for what you did back then.”
Shen Ruoyi froze. As her heart fluttered in bewilderment, the crowd around them burst into laughter first. She realized this was just another way for him to get back at her.
She blinked, rose onto her toes, and pressed her lips to his cheek of her own accord.
“Yin Heng, you’re even easier to kiss than you were as a child!”
After that day, she removed Yin Heng from her list of potential husbands for good.
Yin Heng also began meeting suitable young women. He was considerate toward everyone, but ignored Shen Ruoyi completely.
Shen Ruoyi thought they were finally even.
Until the day of her betrothal ceremony, when Yin Heng arrived in a rush.
Though he had no official claim on her, he disrupted the engagement ceremony in front of all the guests.
[Untroubled, naturally flirtatious, charming dark moonlight × guarded, restrained man who protects his own, late-blooming romantic]
PS
First love, happy ending; both are adults from the start.
Sweet and sour romance. They genuinely clash at the start, then fall for each other. The blurb can only explain so much.
A fictional world modeled on the Tang dynasty, with many original details.
