Jiang Moxie was an overworked college student from 21st-century Blue Star. After spending too much time gaming, he pulled three or four all-nighters studying during finals week, then kicked the bucket in the advanced calculus exam hall. The last thing he saw before dying was the proctor letting out a piercing scream and rushing toward him.
When he opened his eyes again, the Evil God System came knocking. The System promised that if he played the Evil God, the male lead's cheat in the novel Ghosts, he could continue living in a new world under a new identity.
Who would choose death when they could live? Jiang Moxie accepted the System's terms and became the male lead's ghostly companion.
But... why does he have to role-play to get the Evil God's powers? And why is the male lead of this no-CP novel crying as he asks if Jiang Moxie can please stay?

Neither the top nor the bottom is exactly a champion of justice. The story includes depictions of people who aren't entirely innocent but haven't done anything particularly wrong getting caught in the crossfire and killed. If you can't handle that, run!!!
A domineering, cool, and irresistible Evil God top who's a total sweetheart inside x a tragic and miserable bottom in the beginning, who becomes powerful and utterly cold later
Theme: Persevere and keep striving
