A genius female lead with a rotten personality and a sincere heart x a rational male lead with his own selfish motives

One day, by chance, Cheng Jiayu saw Peng Qishu, the model student in his class, take a carton of milk from a convenience store shelf, put it in her bag, and walk out.

He was stunned. It felt as if his whole worldview was being rewritten.

Before he could think it through, Cheng Jiayu left the money for the milk on the counter and turned to catch up with her.

"Why did you do that?"

But as soon as he stepped outside, she stopped him. There was no remorse on her face, only confusion.

"What you did was wrong."

Before he could finish, Peng Qishu rolled her eyes and scoffed. "So you're an idiot." She patted his shoulder as if brushing off something dirty, then left.

It was the first time Cheng Jiayu had experienced anything like this. He just thought she was bizarre. How could she say something like that to him? Wasn't she afraid he'd tell someone?

As far as he knew, Peng Qishu at school wasn't like this at all.

It wasn't until he walked into the classroom and saw her staring at him in surprise that Cheng Jiayu realized she had no idea he was her classmate!!!

Even afterward, she never came looking for him, but he still chose to keep quiet.

He figured she must have had a good reason for what she did, and he had to help her.

So Peng Qishu never went back to that convenience store, and every morning, a carton of milk appeared on her desk as if from nowhere.

She didn't ask, and he didn't tell.

But he found himself looking at her more and more often, and learned more of her secrets.

Maybe he was the one who found them out. Or maybe she let him find them.

Who could say?

But he could no longer look away.

I've read so many stories where the female lead saves a rotten male lead, so this time I'm switching things up. Though the female lead isn't actually that rotten... And the male lead gets lucky again!

I forgot what I wanted to say at the beginning, and I've forgotten what I wanted to say at the end. Anyway, the female lead needs a lover who won't let himself be driven away.

Updates for this story will be irregular. I mainly want to try a new approach.
