Yan Sinian and Yan Nian have been childhood friends for fifteen years. Everyone around them ships them.

She and Yan Nian get into a fight.

She and Yan Nian announce they're dating.

Yan Sinian has always known that Yan Nian treats her well, but she never considered dating him.

Friends are friends. How could they become lovers?

It wasn't until rumors at the arts festival and the distance between them after they were put in different classes in their second year of high school gave her something to compare that Yan Sinian realized that, at the end of getting used to someone, came falling in love.

But when she confessed, all she got in response was an averted gaze and a body that shied away.

She knew it. The rumor that Yan Nian liked her was nonsense. It had all been her imagination!

If he didn't like her, then she wouldn't talk to him either.

Who could have guessed that one day, after their cold war, Yan Nian would stand before her and bow his head to her again? "Yan Sinian, everyone's been shipping fake romance. How about we give them the real thing for once?"

Yan Nian loves her laughter, her mischief, her bossing him around, and the little ways she unconsciously acts spoiled with him.

Treating Yan Sinian well has become second nature to him.

Later, Yan Sinian asked him, "If I never caught on, were you planning to stay my friend forever?"

"Yes."

I would gladly be your knight as your friend.

If you are willing, I will love you forever.

If you are not, I will pine for you forever.
