As a descendant of Bai Ze stranded in a foreign land, Bai Jiao had spent a century working hard to gather enough faith to revive his people and finally set out for home. He thought the unluckiest thing that had ever happened to him was meeting Lu Ye.
This severely injured man had suddenly fallen from the sky into his home for reasons unknown. He absorbed all the faith Bai Jiao had painstakingly accumulated, then woke up with amnesia, unable to remember who he was, what his name was, or why he had ended up in Bai Jiao's house.
Bai Jiao: "...Ancestor, are you my natural enemy or what?"
With no other choice, he gave the man a new name, Shier, made him his contracted beast, and threatened him into working for him so they could earn faith together.
But Bai Jiao never imagined that this usually expressionless man, whom he could bully as he pleased, was actually Lu Ye, the dreaded marshal of the interstellar fleet.
Later, Bai Jiao grew impatient with Lu Ye clinging to him around the clock and kicked him away. The interstellar marshal, known to outsiders as a cold-faced iceberg, knelt before him and asked in a wheedling, plaintive tone whether his foot hurt. Only then did Bai Jiao belatedly realize how serious things had become.
Bai Jiao: "...Uh, did I raise the interstellar marshal into a lovesick fool?"
