[Shameless Cat-Shifting Master Bottom x Well-Behaved-on-the-Surface, Actually Unhinged Disciple Top]
Yun Shuo traveled to another world to rescue his precious disciple, who had fallen to demonic corruption and been exiled.
By day, he was a cool and aloof master, gentle and patient.
By night, he was a silvery-white cat in his disciple's arms, letting him hug and kiss him as he pleased.
Yun Shuo was pleased: This was the greatness of the master-disciple bond.
His disciple's inner thoughts: [If Master would only tempt me like this... I'd gladly die for him.]
After three hundred years of keeping his heart pure and his desires in check, Yun Shuo was completely caught off guard.
And his precious disciple kept ending up in danger whenever Yun Shuo let his guard down.
No, he was getting into danger for Yun Shuo.
During a battle against inner demons, his disciple took a heavenly lightning strike for him and nearly became a ghost.
In an underground chamber, his disciple had an arm torn off for him, bleeding out on the spot.
What master could sit still after seeing their disciple in pieces here and there?
With cat ears and a tail he couldn't retract, Yun Shuo sat in the wreckage of the living room, his heart aching.
But his well-behaved disciple only stared strangely at his fluffy tail.
He said, "I'm not hurt."
But thought: [I want to touch that tail...]
[We've even kissed... So why can't I touch his tail?]
Yun Shuo's pupils trembled: Wait! What kiss? When did that happen?!
Later, they were wed amid a sea of red decorations, spending their wedding night together.
His disciple, who was always pretending to be good, finally dropped his entire facade and leaned in to grip Yun Shuo's chin.
His golden eyes shone under the wedding candles, while his voice was so gentle it was almost bewitching:
"Master, today's wedding was a little too simple."
"Once we're out... I'll make it up to you."
But what awaited Yun Shuo was not a grand wedding room decked in red.
It was a throne surrounded by black mist, and a pair of shackles.
The bell around his neck jingled softly.
Yun Shuo's head started aching again.
"A Yin, let me out."
Reader's Guide:
1. One-on-one, both leads sexually and romantically inexperienced. The master is emotionally slow to catch on at first, but fiercely protective. The disciple seems unhinged but is pure-hearted inside, and only toward his master.
2. This isn't purely romance. The bottom dotes on the top more in the early stages, but later the top's love becomes utterly overwhelming...
3. The worldbuilding is entirely the author's own, with a small ensemble cast.
A preview of my upcoming novel next door, Paper Doll's Attempt at Training a Dog Isn't Going Too Well
Paper doll bottom (all bark, soft heart, and a coward) x Evil spirit top (a nonhuman earnestly learning how to be a dog)
The first day Su Cen transmigrated into a paper doll, the nonhuman evil spirit Bai Siqi picked him up and spun him around three times.
Bai Siqi rubbed his face against Su Cen's. "A toy that can move."
Su Cen was shocked and tried to fight back, only for Bai Siqi to tear open his paper shell. "You said you're human, but there's only a bamboo frame inside. You lied to me."
Su Cen sneered. "Do you put real people inside your paper dolls?"
What a sick freak!
From then on, besides painting and watching nature documentaries, Bai Siqi had a new favorite pastime: playing with Su Cen, the paper doll.
He played with him during the day and at night, every single day, and never got tired of it.
Su Cen thought about running away, but could only think about it.
Because only Bai Siqi's blood could turn him back into a real person.
Bai Siqi: "You're the toy, and I'm the owner."
Su Cen: "Go bark up someone else's tree!"
In the end, he was hung upside down beneath the bed canopy, his head facing the evil spirit's butt.
Furious, Su Cen decided to stand up for himself as a paper doll: train the dog from every angle, without leaving a single blind spot, and become Bai Siqi's master.
He studied his target's weaknesses, set rules, worked on his inner and outer self, and didn't sweat the small stuff.
Heaven helps those who help themselves, and Bai Siqi began to obey.
Before killing living creatures, he'd ask, "Do I kill them all?"
When Su Cen wanted blood, Bai Siqi would bite his own lip and say, "Come take it yourself, A Cen."
When changing into pretty clothes, he'd ask, "Do I look good?"
And when Su Cen slept, he was no longer hung from the bedpost. Now he hung in Bai Siqi's arms.
But it seemed he'd trained the dog a little too well.
His frail paper body had been pierced through...
Su Cen was petrified.
Help! He only wanted to train a dog, but ended up training himself into a dog... the bone Bai Siqi couldn't bear to be without.
Reader's Guide:
1. Not scary. The author doesn't even like horror movies.
2. Dog-training fiction: training first, then falling for each other. Lighthearted and funny, with a touch of the uncanny.
3. One-on-one, happy ending. The top is a real mad dog early on and a real loyal dog later. Bring your own oxygen tank for the dog-training process.
Theme: Even in darkness, hold on to the light within your heart
