Synopsis
The story is nearing its end. Thank you for staying with me. Writing is hard, so please support the official version! *bows*
[An obsessive, gloomy sentinel falls in love across time, with possessive devotion that defies the boundaries of time]
Qin Si is a rare S-class offensive guide in the Interstellar Alliance. She can hold her own without a sentinel's assistance and is hailed as the Alliance's genius.
Only Qin Si knows she isn't a genius at all. An angel has been protecting her in secret.
At first, she always felt an unseen pair of eyes watching her every move.
She searched everywhere to no avail, until
Her distress signal, sent when she was out of contact, was "accidentally" received by headquarters;
A stone that fell from the sky "just happened" to block a mutant's fatal attack.
Qin Si began to believe that angels really did exist.
It's just that this angel was a little too controlling.
The Alliance matched her with a kind, wealthy S-class sentinel, and everyone said they were made for each other.
But just as they were about to hold hands on a date, a flowerpot fell from above and hit him squarely on the head. The night before their engagement, the sentinel was in a serious car accident, and the wedding was called off.
Qin Si went from feeling relieved at first, to confused, and finally... a fine chill crept up her spine.

Mu Xia is the strongest sentinel in Alliance history. With any weapon in hand, he has never lost. After retiring due to injury, he took an administrative job at the White Tower, investigating case files. Everyone lamented that the handsome, kind-hearted war god had fallen from grace.
Only Mu Xia knows that he is ruthless and obsessive, not a good person at all.
The White Tower is investigating a decades-old cold case: an entire operation squad was wiped out in a contaminated zone. Their leader was the late legendary guide Qin Si, who was accused of betraying the organization. The case is handed to Mu Xia. He activates a newly invented time-reversal device and meticulously observes every moment of Qin Si's life, searching for evidence of betrayal.
On the screen, Qin Si is sharp and formidable in battle, but clumsy in everyday life. She can blow up the kitchen just trying to cook. Mu Xia moves a finger and uses the device to intervene in the past, turning off the gas for her.
From then on, intervening becomes a habit.
His gaze seeps into every corner of her life, patiently eliminating every potential threat that comes near her.
When he unconsciously traces her face with a finger through the screen, Mu Xia finally realizes that, through all those days and nights spent watching her, he has already fallen for her in a one-sided love bordering on madness.
Mu Xia is caught repeatedly interfering with the past, and the time-reversal device is about to be permanently shut down.
He no longer hides the obsession in his eyes. "Qin Si didn't betray us. To prevent the real disaster, she's the only one who can break this deadlock."
"How can you prove it?"
"Send me back to the past and let me save her."
#Why does that new sentinel always stare at me like he's paranoid?
#She walks from the very beginning toward certain death, while he gazes from the end back to the start of the solution
#Love can transcend time and space, letting us fight side by side

A preview of my next book, By the Tidal Lake, planned for the end of the year:
[Marrying Into a Prominent North American Family] The synopsis has been slightly revised. See the Reader's Guide for details.
Lin Shuangwu, studying in the United States, visits the Naval Academy because she's heard so much about it. She's dazzled by the uniforms lining the streets.
She stops the tallest, most handsome "passerby" she can find and, blushing, asks in clumsy English, "Can you help me take a picture with the handsome guys?"
The blue-eyed man gives her a cool glance. "Sure."
She runs off shyly, failing to notice the two uniformed men behind her saluting the "passerby," or the faint smile on his lips.
They meet again late at night along the Potomac River. She has just graduated from the San Francisco Film School, given up her dream, and eagerly come to reunite with her boyfriend, only to be dumped without warning. The jerk says, "I'm sorry, but she has a green card."
Fine, fine. So having legal status makes her better than everyone else?
She downs a whole bottle of red wine and sits by the river in the breeze, trying to figure out what to do with her future.
A deep voice comes from behind her. "Hey, need help?"
What, is he worried she'll jump in? She turns around, drunk, and falls into those blue eyes again.
She rambles on about her miserable life all night, then foolishly laughs. "I didn't know drinking too much could improve my hearing."
The blue-eyed man pauses, then chuckles. "No, I spoke Chinese. I learned it."
Lin Shuangwu: "..." Is it too late to jump into the river now?
She thinks that will be the last time they meet.
With her cinematic camerawork and editing skills, Lin Shuangwu becomes a photojournalist for local media. One day, she rushes to the Pentagon to cover a press conference, accidentally drives into a restricted lane, and is immediately stopped by three security vehicles. Beneath the glaring red and blue lights, she shakily hands over her driver's license and press pass.
"I'm done for. This is going to trend."
Just as she's panicking, a black car slows to a stop. The door opens, and a pair of long legs steps into the flashing police lights.
She jerks her head up, her breath catching. Those blue eyes again.
He steps out in a bespoke suit, exchanges a few words with the security personnel to get her off the hook, then leads her to the side of the road and asks, though he already knows the answer:
"Hey, need help again?"
Her heart pounds and her brain freezes. She blurts out elementary-school English:
"I am fine thank you."
Under his amused gaze, Lin Shuangwu's ears burn. She hurriedly adds, "Um... how do I get to the press conference?"
"Come with me."
Later, he leads her into his world.
He takes her to the top of Rockefeller Center to look out over the bustling city at dusk; he takes her to a private preview at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; he takes her to the cutting-edge science labs at MIT...
Her camera shutter clicks again and again, and her world is gently lit up.
From a Chinese student abroad in North America, to someone standing by his side, to the day he casually says, "Your favorite director will be at the Venice Film Festival next month. Would you like to sit at his table as a featured photographer?"
#That night, she thought her life had ended on the riverbank where she was abandoned, never imagining that fate would lift her up and show her a wider world.
#International romance #Marriage first, love later #Old flames rekindled #Size difference #Age gap #Unhinged romance
