The gong is an overworked wage slave from the 21st century who dies suddenly from working overtime, transmigrates to a parallel world, and becomes the third young master of the Nangong family, a carefree and beloved young man. While still young, he settles into a life where everything is handed to him, with nothing to do but play chess and drink tea. (He knows a little kung fu, but not much.)
The shou is a shadow guard raised by the Nangong family for the gong. He is powerful, but humble to the bone, putting his master above all else and never betraying him.
The gong thought he could spend his whole life living like a lazy fish, but after an accident leaves him injured, a shadow guard is forcibly assigned to his side. The guard is utterly humble and willing to give everything for him, time and again. His own family members have also sacrificed so much to protect him. When he learns that he bears a tremendous responsibility, he decides to stop lying flat and venture into the jianghu with the shou, protecting those around him along the way. He also discovers his own feelings, and in the end, he wins at both love and career!!!
