Starting Out as a Horror Instance Hunter

In the year 4238 of the Star Era, the thirtieth year since horror instances first appeared beyond the universe, the first professional horror-instance conquest team is formed.

But what does that have to do with He Xiao? She's a nobody with nothing going for her.

But fate has other plans.

She takes the only inheritance her mother-in-law left her and turns around to join a horror-instance conquest team.

And so begins the most thrilling chapter in the history of humanity's war against horror instances.

Suoluo is a star system on the outermost edge of the ATK811 sector. Its horror-instance clusters are also the lowest-level ones around.

But even in a low-level place like this, every day a crowd gathers outside each horror instance, hoping to team up and strike it rich.

Recently, there's been a new face.

A bald, pale woman whose gender is hard to tell.

But horror instances don't accept pretty faces or dead weight.

Unexpectedly, a few days later, the name of the Villain Squad is near the top of the speed-clear rankings, and only the girl walks out of the instance.

*

The SL506 Squad is Suoluo's official military force. The D-rank Space Insectoid instance is one of the missions they most often enter to rescue people and search for supplies.

The innocent civilians caught up in the instance are naive fools who thought they could strike it rich, only to be taught a lesson by reality.

Whatever this short-haired girl's identity, they bring her along.

They never expect the instance to level up.

At the critical moment, the girl they thought was just some passerby suddenly crawls out of the rubble, holding a long spear.

A flash of cold light strikes first, then her spear thrusts forth like a dragon. Around her, the enormous, monstrous insect bodies pile up into a mountain of corpses.
