[Fragile, gentle beauty of a younger sister × a cold, haughty heir who disguises himself as a woman and is called "Big Sis"]
Yan Chi doesn't like his younger sister, Shen Yun.
She's frail and spoiled, silver-tongued. Though she seems gentle and obedient, she has a devious, scheming heart.
They aren't related by blood, and their connection began with nothing more than Yan Chi calling her "little sister" while he was disguised as a woman.
But she truly took him for her elder sister and gave him her whole heart. Even when she was gravely ill and unconscious, his name was all she called.
"Big Sis, Big Sis."
-
It was only after Yan Chi dragged her from the carriage on her wedding day that Shen Yun learned just how badly she had been mistaken.
She finally understood why Yan Chi's gaze had always been so deep whenever she called him "Big Sis."
Big Sis, Big Sis.
He wasn't her elder sister.
He was Yan Chi, the Prince of Yan's heir, who had plotted for seventeen years to exact revenge. He was a madman willing to gallop through the Imperial Avenue and abduct the Crown Princess just to take her away.
-
Shen Yun resolved to escape.
But halfway along the road, someone who coveted her ambushed their carriage. Shen Yun fought her way out, only to fall in the dark mountains and nearly die.
She had prepared countless farewell letters during her illness, and now they finally came in handy. As Shen Yun closed her eyes and waited to die, she thought she heard the familiar sound of hooves. It might have been a hallucination.
The urgent, swift hoofbeats sounded just as they had when he took her away all those years ago.
Shen Yun's nose stung. She whispered, "Big Sis..."
"I'm here."
Strong arms lifted her up and carried her. Shen Yun closed her eyes, drifting between sleep and waking, and thought:
Maybe staying wouldn't be so bad after all.
If they couldn't be sisters, why not try being something else?

Important notes before reading:
- The setting is entirely fictional, spanning five thousand years of imagined history. No historical accuracy intended. The male lead is a prince with a different surname from the imperial family, similar to the fiefdom system of the early Han dynasty. He has his own territory, but it is not a fully independent state like those of the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods.
- The leads are not related by blood. The male lead disguises himself as a woman for revenge, but he won't remain in disguise.
- A devoted romance between two virgins. There is a plot, but not much; it mainly serves the romance.
- Lots of male rivals competing for the heroine. She has a slight everyone-loves-her quality, and at least three male suitors will fight over her. At heart, this is a fake-siblings, possessive-abduction romance written to indulge my own tastes. See the author's note in the first chapter for content warnings.
