Pei Shu, the Right Chancellor, had a secret.
She wasn't the original villainess.
In the sixteenth year of helping the crown prince seize the throne, Pei Shu had completed every part of the plot. Only one step remained before her ultimate goal: sacrificing herself to pave the way.
After her death, the crown prince's faction would claim the final prize in the struggle for the throne. But everything depended on one condition: the crown prince must not try to die with her.

Wen Yanqing, the crown prince, had a secret.
He wasn't the original crown prince.
That year, he and the crown prince fell into the water together. Pei Shu saved him, while the crown prince died. They were accomplices.
On the night before he was to ascend the throne, he held a knife to his father's neck, and the abdication edict was stamped with a seal. As his father died, he laughed and said that twins were ill omens and harbingers of disaster, and that Wen Yanqing was destined to be alone for the rest of his life.
Wen Yanqing had never believed in fate. Not until flames rose from the Chancellor's residence and a guard came stumbling in to tell him that Chancellor Pei was dead. He rushed into the fire, but all he could hold was her lifeless body.
His accomplice, the master of his most beautiful dreams, his Chancellor Pei, wanted to leave him. That was absolutely impossible.
[Reader's Guide]
1. Older woman and younger man, seven years apart. The male lead is lovesick, and the overall flavor is somewhat self-deprecating.
2. An imaginary dynasty, with a mountain of original worldbuilding.
3. The woman takes the lead in the romance; BG romance.
4. Happy ending, both leads are each other's only partners.
5. A light ensemble cast. Some chapters mainly follow characters other than the leads; feel free to skip them if you don't like that (the viewpoint is marked in the chapter title, so please check when buying =v=).
6. The plot and romance get equal weight. This isn't a pure, sweet romance; overall, it's bittersweet.
7. The female lead isn't a morally upright, flawless character. She has a dark side [highlighted].
Theme: People determine their own fate.
Just don't write about having children [Glasses] I want to focus on the male and female protagonists

After deposing the crown prince, does the emperor have another heir? 😂
Met the teacher who stayed up all night with me [continue]
You don't want the fifth imperial concubine to give birth to a "grandson", do you?
What? Is this the end? Oh my God, what are these last two chapters about?!
A bit of divergent thinking: After reading the story of Ghost Face, I suddenly understood why the word "Xici" was written on the cover. Teacher Pei looks cold, but in fact she is like sunshine (Xi), conveying her kindness to the people around her. The sun naturally spreads sunshine, unintentionally or unintentionally, but it does not prevent people who bathe in the sun from feeling grateful and praising the sun.
The protagonist is too transparent and shows his divine nature. It is well written.
Hey, does this mean that both Xiao Wu and the male protagonist know the identity of the female protagonist? [Loading]
The storm is about to come and the wind is blowing all over the building. In the next chapter, will the emperor ask for a dog to lead him 🐶🌹
