Taking a Crown Prince from a Fallen Kingdom as My Concubine (Female-Dominated World)
娶个亡国太子为妾(女尊)
by Bu Qinglan (步青澜)
Synopsis
Everyone says that having a devoted husband at home means you have nothing to worry about and can enjoy every pleasure in life. So why has Chu Jinyue never felt that way?
Chu Jinyue, supreme commander of the Daheng Dynasty, struck straight at the heart of the enemy and crushed the Daye Dynasty in one decisive campaign. The last dynasty where men held the highest status fell, and the crown prince of the defeated Daye Dynasty was reduced to a prisoner.
The man certainly had a handsome face. After giving him a casual once-over, the empress bestowed him upon Chu Jinyue.
Bestowed him on her? Chu Jinyue had no such intention at all.
The thought of bringing him home and having to see his gloomy, almost lifeless expression at every meal, along with the fact that he was the crown prince of a fallen dynasty, made Chu Jinyue dislike him more with every glance. Even the food lost its flavor.
1.
One day, Chu Jinyue, who had not returned to her residence for many days, pushed open the door and saw Ling Chen holding a bloodstained dagger in his right hand, his left forearm raised level with his eyes. Ling Chen was watching his own blood drip down.
Chu Jinyue thought the man must be going mad.
The bed frame was made from agarwood worth a fortune and nearly impossible to find. She did not want blood soaking into it.
Frowning, Chu Jinyue bandaged Ling Chen. Was this because she disliked him and someone in the residence had bullied him, leaving him aggrieved?
It was inevitable that people would gossip about Ling Chen's identity. No one was a sage. Chu Jinyue sighed inwardly and decided that, from that day on, she would treat him a little more kindly at home.
Before long, Chu Jinyue decided that those few scraps of kindness had been well worth it. Ling Chen grew more obedient, his temperament softened, and he began to smile more often. She was quite pleased.
One night, Chu Jinyue did not return home at all. The next day, an inexplicable unease in her sleep forced her to open her eyes. A slender shadow stood by the bed. Startled, Chu Jinyue quickly lit the bedside lamp.
Ling Chen's expression was blank, his dark eyes flickering as he asked, "Where did you go last night?"
2.
Time passed, and Ling Chen grew stronger, no longer as thin as when he had first arrived. He left his collar open, caught the tip of Chu Jinyue's hair, and smiled faintly. "My lord, your concubine would do anything for you. I'd climb a mountain of blades or plunge into a sea of flames without hesitation."
Chu Jinyue expressionlessly brushed his hand away. "There's no need."
Ling Chen's gaze darkened, then he let out a soft laugh. "My lord is so heartless. The empress must be planning to reward you with another man again, to distract you from me."
Chu Jinyue frowned and looked at him speechlessly. "Get back to your room. Stop spouting nonsense all day and getting on my nerves."
That night, the newlywed spouse Chu Jinyue had only recently brought home was discovered having an affair with a guard. While fleeing in panic, the spouse fell into a well and drowned.
Ling Chen came to Chu Jinyue with a smile and affectionately wrapped his arms around her waist. "My lord, they all deserved to die. Your concubine is the only one who will remain loyal to you forever."
As he spoke, he leaned close to Chu Jinyue's ear. Looking at her smooth, luminous earlobe, he swallowed.
Chu Jinyue sighed and pushed his head away, unconcerned. "Dead is dead. Don't get in the way while I'm studying the battle maps."
At her words, Ling Chen lowered his eyes and stared gloomily at Chu Jinyue. "My lord..."
"Tsk." Chu Jinyue glared at him impatiently.
That look made Ling Chen's ears turn red. He sat to one side while Chu Jinyue studied the battle maps, watching her.
The more obedient Ling Chen became, the more wary Chu Jinyue grew. He was a madman, and now she was becoming one too.
[Coldhearted, Career-Obsessed Female General × Gloomy, Unprincipled Fake Crown Prince]
A restrained, lofty beauty who is a poisonous flower, experiencing the first stirrings of love
vs
A sensitive, suspicious, insecure, crazy puppy
* Marriage first, love later. A crazed, wicked man claims the lofty beauty for himself.
* Love and hatred intertwined, sworn enemies from rival kingdoms. They should belong to each other for life.
* A battle of wits and tension, an imbalance of power, a cold woman and an infatuated man.
# Female-dominant setting. The heroine has no interest in men and even finds them annoying (though not the hero later on). Please do not impose modern real-world values on this story. This is a female-dominant novel. Please enter with caution if that is not your preference!
# The hero is mentally ill, obsessive, possessive, and crazy. Yes, he is not normal, but for the heroine, he can be.
# Although this is a female-dominant novel, the woman is strong and the man is no weakling. A weak guy would not be worthy of the heroine.
# Unlike traditional female-dominant novels, this story includes many original settings. Everything serves the plot!
# No male pregnancy. The story shares some similarities with traditional historical settings. It involves two dynasties: one where women are superior to men, and one where men are superior to women (the latter falls at the very beginning).
One-on-one romance, happy ending, both leads have only been with each other. Full manuscript completed in advance.
An imagined setting with blended dynasties. Please do not nitpick historical accuracy.
