How to Set My Disciple Back on the Righteous Path

Aloof wooden woman x obsessive, sensitive man

Rather than envy immortals who know all things, better to return home, visit kin and friends, and wander amid a thousand peaks.

Lin Jing is the sect leader's disciple, known in the immortal sect for her cool restraint and profound cultivation. Her only blemish is that the disciple she picked up from a fishing village became a demon everyone wants to see dead.

Her disciple has betrayed his teacher and ancestors, drawing the wrath of heaven and the fury of the people. She has no choice but to grit her teeth and purge the sect.

But when she raises her sword, he bares his neck, covered in wounds, and smiles calmly. "If Master wants me dead, I'll obey."

Lin Jing's sword hand trembles.

She has to admit that even if she grits her teeth until they break, she still can't bring herself to strike.

Forget it. Cang Ji's fall into demonic ways is partly her responsibility, too.

So Lin Jing gives up most of her cultivation, seals Cang Ji's memories, and turns back time to before she met him, vowing that this time she won't let him become a demon.

The world is full of wonders. They travel and see them all. When they occasionally come across a few debts of sin, she and he resolve them together. Lin Jing believes that if she can show him the good in this world, he won't descend into demonic ways.

And then?

Just when she thinks everything is fine, Cang Ji regains his memories and kneels at her feet, whispering.

"Master, please have mercy on me. Please love me."

Later, when they return to Qianshan Yin, he says, "Senior brother and junior sister can be a match made in heaven, but teacher and disciple is a grave transgression. Why should it be any different?"

Lin Jing gets a headache.

After cultivating for so many years, no one ever taught her what to do when her disciple wants to rise above his station.

1. Some place and sect names are borrowed from classical poetry. Please don't read too much into them.

2. This isn't traditional cultivation fiction. It's more of an episodic story, about supernatural tales that happen in various places.

3. Umm... I didn't expect this. I'll add more if I think of anything.
