Can Investigators Work at the Distillery Too?

After Hoshino Sena dies, a mysterious CoC System selects him and invites him to participate in a module's beta test as a novice investigator.

[You are an undercover Public Security agent embedded in the Black Organization, dedicated to gathering evidence of their crimes and uncovering the secret of "immortality."]

...Who's the undercover agent? Me?

At first, Hoshino Sena doesn't care whether he's an undercover agent. After all, between black and red, he prefers white.

But sometimes, in his dreams, he always finds himself in a familiar place. There, brilliant spring cherry blossoms bloom, though he's never seen them before. There are five radiant smiles, too, and finally they shatter amid a jolting chaos.

After waking, he is left with nothing but endless darkness, which he wanders through alone and bewildered.

At first, everything is new to Hoshino Sena. He looks forward to every night, to those sweet dreams, and to hearing his own name spoken in all those different voices.

Until fireworks bloom, the Ferris wheel stops turning, and the silver bullet is stained with blood that will never wash away. Everything shatters amid the ear-splitting screech of brakes.

Later, Hoshino Sena begins to dread nightfall.

"Please don't make me dream," he begs.

"What are you talking about, silly child?"

The KP looks at him with pity. "Stop saying such nonsense. Those weren't dreams."

*The story of a monster gradually becoming human.

*The protagonist is an investigator, and can also be considered part of the Red Team.

*The entire Police Academy Squad is saved. The plot mostly doesn't follow the original.

*The protagonist grew up in a psychiatric hospital and lacks common sense. His way of thinking differs from that of ordinary people. (He's actually pretty absurd.)
