On Cloudweave Island, floating high among the clouds, the little fairy Pipi sets out on a sacred mission: to carry the "Aurora Ribbon," filled with a year's worth of hope, to Echo Peak at the edge of the world and kindle the first glimmer of the new year.
Along the way, Pipi meets Barnaby, a clockwork badger who seeks precise logic, and Shanshan, a firefly who has lost its light and longs to find it.

The three companions cross the sweet, minty candy plains, the Whispering Forest where voices go missing, the shimmering Jelly Lake, the storm-lashed Lost Canyon, and the Misty Mountains that reflect one's heart.
Not only do they support one another through danger, they also use their "silver sewing needles" and pure kindness to heal a melancholy musician, a lonely guardian, and an insecure little giant.
