Qi Chang'an often wondered whether Cheng Yu loved him for his blood or for who he was.
Then his wife kicked him back three thousand years, and he awakened.
-
Cheng Yu crawled out of his grave, covered in dirt and thoroughly fed up.
He had slept fitfully for three thousand years, all just to see Qi Chang'an.
He followed the address to Qi Chang'an's home, only to trip and knock his own head off. Just as he had snapped it back into place with a click, Qi Chang'an opened the door and walked in.
"I, " Cheng Yu had barely started to speak when the other man's eyes rolled back and he fainted on the floor.
Cheng Yu: ...Oh no. Did I scare him to death?
He hurriedly carried him inside, then stiffened up because he had gone so long without food.
-
When Qi Chang'an woke, he felt a sharp pain at the side of his neck.
A bloodstained mouth moved away from his neck. The other man even licked his fangs in a wounded sort of way. "You're awake? I'm starving."
Qi Chang'an jerked back, clutching his neck. He froze for a moment, then scrambled into the kitchen, grabbed a handful of glutinous rice, and flung it at Cheng Yu.
Cheng Yu: "...Ah! Qi Chang'an! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!"
-
Qi Chang'an stood by the window, looking forlorn, like autumn winds had swept away all hope.
Somehow, a "person" had moved into his home, taken his room, drunk his blood, and slept with his man.
Cheng Yu woke up and was hungry again.
Qi Chang'an had had enough of being a walking blood bank. Hearing a noise, he turned around with a gloomy look. "You said we were married. Is that protected under modern marriage law?"
...Oh, right. They didn't have a civil code back then.
Cheng Yu didn't even answer. He just frowned. "Cut the nonsense. I'm hungry. Let me bite you."
"Okay." Qi Chang'an walked over, tilted his head, and offered himself up.
-
As Cheng Yu bit him, Qi Chang'an suddenly asked in a quiet voice, "Is your body made of wood?"
Cheng Yu paused and mumbled, "No."
"Then what is it made of?"
Cheng Yu lifted his eyes, the corner of his mouth still stained bright red.
He leaned close to Qi Chang'an's ear and whispered, "Your bones."
Qi Chang'an: ...Oh. He lives in his house, drinks his blood, sleeps with his man, and now even his body is made from bones taken out of him?!

Both leads are each other's only partner. Happy ending. Not a past-life-and-present-life story.
