Mountains Upon Mountains

It all started with that package.

The sender was my aunt, who'd been missing for years.

No phone call, no message. Just a package, with the address: Wansheng Mountain, Guizhou.

I went.

And then I discovered that ghosts really do exist.

But ghosts aren't always what they seem. This whole business was far more complicated than I'd imagined.

On Wansheng Mountain, I found the ring I'd given my aunt years ago. It shattered everything I'd believed for more than twenty years, and I made two friends: the kind you make when you're running for your lives together.

I thought that was the end of it, but a new clue led me to the Qinling Mountains.

I was only going there to hike and clear my head.

Then, at the foot of the mountain, I ran into Feng Shanxiang, whom I'd met before. Without a word, he dragged me into a group.

They called it an expedition, but the gear those people were carrying didn't look right.

The traces of my aunt kept growing stronger, and the people in that group had a far deeper connection to her than I'd expected.

Now I have just one question:

What kind of person was my aunt, really?
