Unhinged young lady x Warm little sunshine
I've been possessed.
A transmigrator controls my body, following instructions from some so-called System to save the gloomy, taciturn boy who goes to my school.
She's sunny and cheerful, seemingly with endless energy. Even the stray cats by the school gate always get her attention.
She's also a little foolish, stubbornly controlling my body to do things I despise.
Like buying peaches from the old man by the school gate, even though they might have gone bad.
Like smiling at the ambitious men coveting her identity, naively believing they only want to help her.
She came here to save that cowardly, selfish, gloomy, and cruel boy.
Why does it have to be him?
Why can't it be me?
I need her more than he does.
And I wouldn't reject her. I would never hurt her.
So, every night when I take back control of my body, I pick up a lipstick and write threats to her on the mirror:
Don't go near that boy.
Don't talk to anyone else.
Don't look at anyone else.
She gets scared. She screams. She starts asking the System for help.
But, darling, I've already kicked the System out of this world.
She stares into the mirror, where my twisted face appears.
It looks exactly like hers.
Don't be afraid, darling.
A short story, about 30,000 to 50,000 Chinese characters. A writing exercise, very simple, and there may be some plot holes.
