(The Tang in the blurb refers to Later Tang.)
Her husband, Li Cunxu, was hailed as the Warrior Emperor, only to be killed by a rebel arrow.
Then she was branded a demon empress who brought ruin to the realm, and the rebels put her to death as well.
In that life, the two of them met their ends far too carelessly.
Reborn, Liu Huixin reflects bitterly on the past and decides to become a virtuous empress.
But her lecherous husband prefers her as a demon empress. What is she supposed to do?
If there’s no solution, she’ll make one.
The emperor hasn’t come to his senses yet, but does that mean the empress isn’t allowed to improve herself?
Li Cunxu: Are you even making sense?
Liu Huixin: Oh, Your Majesty, do you think I’ve been doing a good job assisting you?
Li Cunxu: ...
Liu Huixin: I will assist five emperors across the Five Dynasties: first my husband, then my son, then my grandson, then my great-grandson, and finally my granddaughter.
Li Cunxu: ...Your granddaughter?!
Liu Huixin: Yes. Our granddaughter is the destined emperor who will end the age of chaos and unify the realm.
Li Cunxu: !!!

When fortune comes, Heaven and Earth lend their strength; when destiny turns, the demon empress becomes wise.
The Tang phoenix descends and sweeps across the six directions; the realm is unified and a prosperous dynasty begins.

[Reading Guide]
🎈Set during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, with a largely historical approach. However, Later Tang will unify the realm, meaning Later Jin, Later Han, Later Zhou, and both Song dynasties will be erased from history.
🎈Historical canon couples will not be split up. The granddaughter in the blurb will not have a romance with any emperor or ruler from the historical record.
🎈A sprawling ensemble cast and a long story, with an 80/20 split between plot and romance.
(Early on, there will be more male characters in the ensemble. As women rise to power later, female characters will gradually increase in number.)
🎈Slow burn, grounded and focused on working through plausible developments, not a wish-fulfillment story. The granddaughter will not be born until after Chapter 100.
🎈Chapters 1–22 cover events in the Central Plains, Chapters 23–46 cover the various kingdoms, and the story returns to the Central Plains from Chapter 47 onward.
🎈Poems, edicts, historical documents, and similar text without a clearly marked source are written by the author, not quoted from original texts.
🎈For citations and explanations of historical sources, please see the author’s notes at the end of each chapter and the essay “Notes on the Writing Process” in the author’s column.

Theme: Let her be seen in the vermilion records
Zhou Rongsheng: I'm going to die 😭
It can only be said that the emperor with real power is too arbitrary.
Empress Liu actually had an affair with her adopted son 🐶🌹 which was recorded in Beimeng Suoyan, but Ouyang Xiu didn't use it.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
In fact, I also really like the author's plot in this part. The sympathetic competition between the two women is moving. In fact, both of them are not wrong in this matter. They are both victims of feudal ethics and love rivals.
Li Cunxu seems to have doted on his concubines and killed his wife more than once. He also named his aunt Liu as his concubine and his biological mother Cao as the queen mother. I feel that this kind of "degrading wives into concubines" is a unique feature of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms.
Hahaha, he really did this.
The fundamental reason is that Li Cunxu cannot govern the country.
Looking forward to the author's update, I really like Hou Tang, I must continue.
I really like the plot of political battles 💪 Actually, it's quite cruel that the nephew killed someone for such a small thing.
