Nova Rivals, aka a superstar and die-hard Roma fan, has shown up in Milan. She was photographed going alone to San Siro to watch Nesta's welcome ceremony. But on the drive back, a dark-haired man appeared in her car.
The man in the passenger seat had his head bowed, his face impossible to make out. Journalists and fans alike were speculating about which Rossoneri player had the skills to land a date with one of Hollywood's hottest stars.
Let's rule out one wrong answer first: surely it can't be Nesta.
"Don't cry, my Sandrino."
Nova twirled a lock of her curly black hair around her finger. Her darling lover lay with his head on her lap.
"A second marriage always brings good luck. I bet you'll win the Champions League in Milan. Don't tell me winning the World Cup left you with no ambitions? Don't you want to complete the set, Sandro?"
"No, Nova. I don't want any of that. I just want Lazio to never go bankrupt..." Nesta's tears were warm. They slowly dampened Nova's trousers, then turned faintly cool.
Nesta's grief was not going to end anytime soon, but Roma's die-hard fan, the she-wolf's saint, had finally run out of patience. Seeing her sweetheart unable to eat, she reverted to her usual self:
"Our little Sandro sure dreams big. Your Eagles have already opened the doors to the transfer market! Just settle in at Milan. I think Paolo and the others all adore you."
