Ya never understood until the day he died why Lucifer had fallen from Heaven.

He had loved him so dearly.

Not until

he saw in a memory orb how, on the day of the Fall, this all-powerful man wept for the first time in Hell, gazing up at Heaven in despair.

Only then did he understand:

Lucifer's faith in him had never vanished.

O God,

If you still look down upon me from the light, hear the exiled one's final prayer:

I turned from you in pride and burned all you had made, only to prove I could exist without your love;

but after endless ages of torment, I learned that what I had destroyed with my own hands was the very grace I longed for most.

I love you. This love defies the order of Heaven and profanes its glory. It is my unforgivable original sin;

Yet this love is also why I refuse to fade into nothingness, still calling your name in the deepest darkness. It is the only salvation I have left;

If you condemn me to fall forever, let me remember you as I fall;

If you grant me an end, let this love be my final prayer.
