As a half-baked hybrid of a mirage dragon, the boldest thing Jiang Yizhen ever did was bring home a pureblooded Lilim on a stormy night.

She dutifully raised the golden-eyed little monster, hoping love and peace would win her over.

But when the little monster turned eighteen, she hadn't learned to eat vegetables. Instead, she had put Jiang Yizhen on the menu.

Faced with that "Mom" spoken in a voice hot with desire, Jiang Yizhen chickened out and caught a red-eye to London that very night.

Five years later, in foggy London.

Forensic pathologist Jiang Yizhen took on a difficult case involving a series of mummified corpses.

During the autopsy, however, she caught a familiar scent: the Lilim's distinctive "modus operandi."

That night, Jiang Yizhen met the specially appointed detective reportedly assigned to the case at a bar.

Black hair, golden eyes, and breathtakingly beautiful, it was the "good daughter" she didn't want to claim.

The other woman clasped her trembling hand and smiled innocently.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Jiang. I'm Nicole."
